John Lennon is considered to be one of the greatest rock and roll legends of all time. Many people admired him, even other famous rock stars, such as Kurt Cobain who said “I wanted to have the adoration of John Lennon but have the anonymity of Ringo Starr. I didn't want to be a front man. I just wanted to be back there and still be a rock and roll star at the same time”(Qtd. In brainyquotes). What Cobain is saying is he wanted to be like John Lennon, so not be the front man but have the most impact on the music and fans. Other rock stars such as Joe Walsh, Dave Grohl and Nancy Wilson also admired john Lennon and the Beatles. Lennon has influenced many people throughout his life; he spread the word about peace, to being a role model to an entire generation from young to old that still continues today, as well as being a huge inspiration on music. …show more content…

His parents were Fred Lennon and Julia Elizabeth Stonely. He then later moved in with his Aunt Mimi smith at the age of four and lived with her till he was seventeen. John’s mother remarried later on and went to his aunts on a regular basis to see him; His mother taught him how to play many musical instruments, and later purchased his first guitar. Lennon attended quarry bank high school, and was a trouble maker and did not get the best grades but had artistic talent so he soon went to the Liverpool Collage of arts. In 1958 Lennon’s mother died from an awful car accident, he says it was one of the most traumatic experiences in his life. At age sixteen Lennon formed his first band called the Quarrymen, named after his high school. Lennon met Paul McCarthy at a church fete on July 6, 1957 and soon invited him to join his group, not realizing they were about to make music history ("John Lennon
