As most musicans do, John had a very problematic early childhood. He was born on October 9th 1940, during one of the most horrific bomb raids of Liverpool. In fact, the raid was so bad, that baby John was put under a table to protect him, and his Aunt Mimi risked her life to come to see him. His father, Alfred, was a merchant seamen so he was away a great deal and Julia, his mother, was very free spirited and was the main source for some of John's entertaining personality. Because of Julia's personality it was decided that Mimi, her much more strict sister, would raise John with her husband George. John was not abandoned by his mother, as some believe, she frequently visited him, but it was Mimi that raised him.
One most ghastly events in John's life at an early age occurred when his father came home to see him when he was four. Alfred came and took John to Blackpool, admist Mimi's reluctance. He did not return at his scheduled time and Mimi and Julia went to retrieve him. Once they got there, they made John choose what parent he wanted to live with. At first he wanted to stay with his dad, but he went crying to his mom, who brought him back to stay with Mimi. This event tragically scared John for the rest of his life, and fostered is insecurities. Mimi and George were fairly well off financially contrary to John's idea that he was working class. Of all the Beatles, John came from the wealthiest family. Mimi was very rigid and strict with John, and had the lacerating wit that John would display later. George was very easy and often spoiled John when Mimi was punishing him. John was a very bright child and often read, wrote and sang. He did however, have lots of trouble at school. He was always getting i trouble with Pete Shotton, his partner in crime. He did not do well with his grades and was poor in math especially. One thing John excelled in was art, he was notorious for his caricatures of deformed people. Therefore, as a teen, he went on to art school. There he met his future wife, Cynthia Powell, and best friend, Stuart Sutcliffe.
Also by this time, the skiffle craze had spread across Britain, and John formed a band.

John Lennon was extremely influential to the world during his lifetime, and mainly during the sixties. He fueled many movements with his strong willed beliefs in peace and happiness. The actions and music of John Lennon drastically altered how many people viewed the world around them during the sixties and throughout his entire life.
John Michael Osbourne was born to John Thomas Osbourne and his wife Lillian on December 3rd, 1948. His residence was located at 14 Lodge Road, Aston, Birmingham, England. John Thomas was a professional tool maker and Lillian worked at the Lucas car factory.
Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947 in Middlesex, England (Elton John). He began playing piano when he was four years old and his musical talent blossomed throughout his early childhood. He received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music when he was only eleven (All Music). After leaving school to start a professional career in music, he performed in a hotel bar before becoming a member of a band known as The Corvettes. Shortly thereafter, the band was reformed as Bluesology and he played keyboard for the group as they traveled and performed throughout the United Kingdom. He created his stage name by combining the names of the band’s saxophonist, Elton Dean, and their lead singer, Long John Baldry—he legally changed his name in 1967 (Elton John).
On the night of Dec. 8th, 1980 – the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins were locked in a 13-13 tie with only seconds left in the 4th Quarter. What should have been an exciting finish to a close game suddenly became unimportant; as Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford struggled to find the words to broadcast the information they had just been given.
The sixties and seventies were a time of war, peace and revolution, with “hippies” leading anti-war movements, and protests happening across the nation due to the administration of Richard Nixon and the Vietnam War. John Lennon originally a member of The Beatles, became a star in the anti-war subculture, and a hero to many, not only for his musicianship and the Beatle-mania that was spread across the country but for being a voice of the people. The Beatles were at the time, the voices of their generation and eventually became a product of their generation, with their songs highlighting the issues of the time. Even with the disbanding of The Beatles in 1969, Lennon continued to be a force in the culture, with his wife Yoko Ono and himself taking a prominent role in the media and movement against the war.
In the august of 58’ Paul tried promoting George Harrison, his young friend, to John, to play guitar in the band (The Beatles). It took awhile but, John decided to listen to him play (Glassman). Do to George’s raw talent John decided he could let him in (Glassman).
John Lennon’s mother, Julia Lennon, taught him how to play the banjo and the piano, and purchased his first guitar for him (John Lennon Biography). His mother was hit by a car and died when John was only 17. His mom’s death was one of the most traumatic events in his life, and he was never the same after that (HowStuffWorks). “Imagine” by John Lennon, released in 1971, was one of the most influential, and important songs of the last 50 years. This track was viewed as his final statement on religion after many years of confusing mixed signals (WND). Lennon constantly calls upon the power of Imagery to appoint his ideas throughout the song, hence the title. Imagery is the formation of figures, ideas, and mental images through diction (Dictionary.com). Many of the ideas Lennon creates are supported, and even inspired by real life events. In John Lennon's “Imagine”, he uses the power of Imagery and applicable real life events to portray an idealistic Utopia.
Jeff Lynn was one of the most important members of the band. He was born on December 30, 1947 in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. Lynne was interested in music while he was still in school. When he was fifteen years his father got him a guitar. Though it was made of plastic and had only one string he practiced it all the time. (Petersdorff 3) Jeff was a big Beatles fan. “Lynne is asked if he now admits to being a Beatles fan. ‘I confess,’ Lynne says with a laugh. ‘I’m dead guilty of being a Beatles fan.’” (Wild 10)

	John Paul was born in the small fishing village of Arbigland, Scotland on July 6, 1747. To his parents John Paul and Jean MacDuff he was the fourth child. They had seven children but unfortunately all but two died in infancy. The family was originally from Fife but John Paul's father had taken the family and moved to Arbigland where William Craik, the owner of a large estate their had met him and hired him to be his gardener.
John Lennon was born on October 9th 1940 in Liverpool, England 1. His father left the family to sail the seas before Lennon’s earliest childhood memory and his mother was taken away by a car accident when he was 18 2. A year after his mother’s death, the Vietnam War took place, which is The United State’s longest military dispute ever. The world famous band, The Beatles, debut on 1961 not long after the start of the war and through this band, Lennon was able to demonstrate his feelings to the people across the world. "Revolution," performed by The Beatles, was created in 1968, when the anti-war demonstration was on the move. After the separation of The Beatles in 1969, Lennon composed the song "Imagine" (1971) 3. This song proves that Lennon is a Peace-Loving-Atheist and a "Voluntarist" 4 that believes in the scheme that people’s ideas can change social reality; however simultaneously admits that there are constantly wars going on in the world. As a result, he could be a mixture of all four, Realist, Liberal, Marxist and Constructivist. On December 8th 1980, approximately five years after the end of the Vietnam War, Lennon was assassinated by Mark Chapman 5. It is not for certain that the word assassination could be used on a singer, song writer who also published books. However there is no doubt about the fact that Lennon touched many people’s hearts around the world and maybe was even praised as an almighty figure.
Of the many genres of music, reggae is one that displays a positive message to its listeners. A prominent artist who clearly expressed this was Robert Nesta Marley, more commonly known as Bob Marley. Marley connected with his audience on a variety of levels. While he worked to unite the people of his country, Jamaica, he proclaimed his message across the world. Bob Marley persuades his audience to accept the message of ethnic unity through his message presentation, social interactions, lifestyle and musical lyrics.
John was born october 9,1940 in Liverpool, England during a british air raid in world war 2. His dad wasn’t there to see his birth and wasn't there much after his birth either because he was a ship man. Growing up in a working-class family, Lennon was only with his parents for awhile, then he moved in with his Aunt Mimi after his parents split up. In the book John Lennon “imagine” it says, “John’s middle name was given to him in honor of Britain's recently appointed prime minister, Winston Churchill.” (Burlingame, pg.6) John’s parents, Julia and Fred Lennon, separated when he was two, and John’s mom was hit by a bus and killed when he was 17 years old. His mom hadn't been around that much but was missed greatly after the tragedy.
