John Dallton
John Dalton was born in September 5,1766 in Eaglesfield in Cumberland, England. Dalton and his family lived in a small country house. His family had been Quakers since 1690. Quakers where members of a society of friends. John had a brother named Mary and A brother named Charles, when he was born his brother was twelve years old and his sister was two years old. Dalton's birth was not recorded, so when he grew up older he asked one of his relatives and got and answer which was his birthday. His parents were honest people and good workers. His dad Joseph had land he had inherited were Dalton and his brother Charles help out with the crop. His mother Deborah Greenup homespun textile Dalton's sister help her too. John Dalton's family were poor but "although they were never hungry they were poor"
Dalton was lucky he was a Quaker , other boys received little or no education, but as Quakers Dalton received a fair education at the closest Quaker school . For Dalton it was an achievement going to school since in those times only one out of two-hundred and fifteen people could read. John Dalton went to the Quaker school at Pardshow Hall. Dalton was quick when it came to studies and in mathematical problems he was good and seem to be tireless of them. John Fletcher was Dalton's teacher, he was a smart man who didn't use a rod to hammer in learning to Dalton, he was to provide Dalton with a excellent back-round and lifelong quest for knowledge. Then came Elihu Robinson a rich Quaker gentlemen. who become Dalton's mentor, and was another person to lead Dalton to mathematics , science, and specially meteorology. John Dalton had an intense fascination for meteorology he even in fact kept careful daily weather records for forty six straight years.
When Dalton was twelve he opened his school in Eaglesfield. He was smaller than some boys so he was threatened by the older boys who wanted to fight with the young teacher. He managed to control the kids for two years, but eventually due to poor salary Dalton return to work the land for his rich uncle. In 1785 Dalton and his brother opened another school this time at Kendall where Dalton had recently moved in. The school offered English, Latin, Greek, French, along with twenty one mathematics and science subjects.
He spent his childhood in Rye, New York, as he was one out of ten children. John’s father was a successful trader of furs, wheat, timber, and other commodities. His mother decided to homeschool him until he was the age of eight, and then his
Penn voluntarily converted from Anglicanism to Quakerism at the ripe age of 22. His father being a highly decorated and wealthy English Admiral, Penn left behind when he became a Quaker and was punished with stints in prison multiple times for his beliefs. Having been a member of both the Anglican Church and the Society of Friends, Penn experienced the majority and repressed religious groups of his country. William Penn was born in England and belonged to a wealthy family “possessed of wealth and status, which gave him almost immediate access to the halls of power in Restoration, England” (Moretta xii). I personally believe that the importance of status and wealth must have played a gigantic role in Penn’s life and his career. He lived a simple life and wanted the good of others, but knowing the status of your family would’ve generated something in his mind. He was a social individual and was liked by his peers until he was caught attending a Quakers meeting and arrested. His father left him homeless at the age of twenty-two and he started residing with the Quakers. He had to struggle in his early twenties but as they say; “with no struggle there is no inspiration.” He knew the consequences of attending the meetings but the interest kept him going. I believe this is when Penn realized the important things in his life and started to prioritize things that meant something to him.

Brazil is an influential democracy although the country continues to confront serious human rights challenges. The Amnesty International in its annual report from 2013 claims that grave human rights abuses against rural workers, communities citizens and indigenous people remain high. They are Brazilian cultural heritage as well as important part of the famous melting pot. Brazilian indigenous people have made substantial and pervasive contributions to the world's medicine with knowledge used today. Many have been forced from their land with little or no consultation and face persistent persecution. As deforestation companies move in to take advantage of the large area of space the Amazon offers, indigenous tribes that live in the forest are subject to violence. The attempt of this work is to analyse what kind of framework in Brazil gives the indigenous people rights, what kind of right are these and if the Brazilian government respects them.
The human mind is not like a tape recorder; we don’t record events exactly as we see them and we don’t recall them as clearly when we try to replay them in our heads. The United States and Brazil each contain “big minorities of indigenous peoples, of blacks (because both had slavery until the second half of the 19th-century), and of immigrants from Italy, Germany and Asia (Chinese predominate in the US; Japanese in Brazil)” (“Comparing Brazil and the United States: American Brothers”). The indigenous population was susceptible to the foreign diseases brought over to the colonies by the European settlers, making it difficult to use them as a labor force. Slavery became the only viable option for the Europeans if they didn’t want to do work themselves. Although both were major slaveholding societies, the difference between the United States of America and Brazil lies in the racial classes within the two states. The United States’ racial classes originate from the deep seeded segregation of people of European descent (Caucasians) being the privileged and ‘superior’ race, while the black population (originally taken from their countries and forced into slavery in the Americas) being the ‘inferior’ and lacking appropriate living standards. African Americans were subjected to legal segregation and discrimination, as well as attacks (including torturing and lynching) by a white supremacy group called the Ku Klux Klan (simply because of their skin color) created serious socioeconomic disadvantages for the black population that remains today. This black versus white mentality in the United States has remained dominant even in 2015, especially since 2014 saw the rise of murdered black Americans by the predominately white police force. While the United States government allowed for legal segregation and has a “historical duality between black and white” (Drogus and Orvis 188), Brazil’s racial classes are much more intricate. Another factor that influences the eyewitnesses reliability is the weapon focus effect. In this effect, witnesses are likely to recall details about the weapon, but less likely to remember other details such as the description of the perpetrator. This obviously affects the reliability of the eyewitness as they pay less attention to other important details of the crime scene. it is suggested that because the weapon diverts the attention of the witness, details can not be recalled. The witness may also feel emotional stress such as anxiousness which can once again affect the ability to remember certain details and therefore influence the eyewitnesses ability to identify a perpetrator.
