Social workers are well-versed, resourceful, and upbeat in responding to developing organizational, community and societal contexts at all levels of practice. Social workers distinguish that the framework of practice is vigorous, and use knowledge and skill to respond proactively. In generalist training, social workers practice at whatever level is required with whatever style system, depending on the complications and powers in focus as considered from an ecological-systems perspective. The generalist may be working at a particular practice level at a given time or with more than one level simultaneously or sequentially.
Chick-fil-A markets their products in several different ways. Some of the marketing techniques that the company utilizes includes their website, social media, and commercial campaigns. Chick-fil-A also dedicates a lot of time and effort to community and employee responsibility in order to be more appealing and known to their customers. It is clear that Chick-fil-A consistently updates all their forms of advertising to stay current with the latest effective marketing tends.

Social Workers are very important to everyday life. They are the ones that help people in need when they have nobody else to turn too. Also, they provide resources and better understanding of predicaments that you could be experiencing. I will reflect on how the class has affected me, my own experiences and how some theories have connected to my life experiences, and lastly, if the class helped toward my major. This class is important for someone that wants to become a social worker and wants to learn about the different theories used. Also, learning about me during this process of completing this class is fun and a way to see if the social work profession is right for me. There was many theories explained throughout this class but many will not be said because it wasn’t the main points that I was trying to get across. There are two tools that are used that can help a social worker organize a client’s life: Bubble map and Briefcase exercise. There are so many different ways a social worker can help a client deal with their problems and come up with a solution. It is up to that social worker to identify the client’s problem and see what theory fits.
I chose to interview Regina Geis, who holds the administrative role as acting supervisor for the County Mental Health adult day program, which provides services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Ms. Geis has held this position for 15 months. This is her first managerial position within a human service agency. Her style of management has changed over this short period of time. She feels that she is now more direct with her direction with staff. She stated, “Maybe now I come across as a little bit cold. But I have learned that I now have to use the least amount of words to get my point across.”
For this assignment, I decided to speak with Connie Chung, my guidance counselor from high school. Today, she continues to work at West Orange High School, providing academic support to select teenagers of the student body. Mrs. Chung received her BA in psychology from Rutgers University and then got her Masters in social work from the University of Maryland. Initially, Ms. Chung was interested in becoming a psychologist but realized that she liked working with kids and ultimately decided to change carer paths in college.
First off, clinical social workers work one-on-one with individuals by utilizing psychosocial casework to improve their client’s lives. Social workers at the micro level typically provide case management by coordinating and monitoring services, developing a treatment plan, advocating for new services, providing psychoeducation, and by helping clients learn more about their specific disorder (Marx). They also provide psychotherapy through three major therapeutic approaches- psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic (Marx). When it comes to the mezzo level social worker work with groups and families. They may initiate therapy groups, support groups, psychoeducational groups, and socialization groups all in order to uplift their clients about their mental disorder (Marx). On top of that, social workers also offer family therapy with the goal of helping families learn and function effectively by meeting the needs of a family member with a mental illness (Marx). Finally, social workers also work on a macro level through advocacy and policy changes, and in an administrative setting. Through advocacy, social workers may lobby for policy changes on a local, state, or national level in order to promote positive
Mezzo level social work involves interpersonal relations with the families being helped and some community involvement as well. Interviewing is one of the most difficult clinical skills to master. Both intellectual and emotional skills are required when conducting an interview. The first step of a successful interview is setting the stage for the interview. The first minutes should be to meet and greet the patient. This provides some assurance and comfort to the patient. When meeting the patient for the first time, establishing a positive rapport so that the patient will feel at ease to discuss the issue that warranted the visit is of high priority. It is important to greeting and welcomes the patient using their name. Introducing self and identifying one’s specific role and the time limits of the interview. Make sure the patient is ready and their privacy is maintained. It is important to conduct the interview in a quiet and private environment. (Seidel, Ball, Dains, Flynn, Solomon, & Stewart, 2011).
This paper will entail my reflections on three main areas pertaining to my own personal experiences. I will describe the influence of my own life experiences, give my particular world view, and describe what advantages and disadvantages, power, and privileges I will bring to my interaction as a social worker.
The employment interview has been the key element used for determining a candidates’ worthiness in filling an open position. Organizations rely on employment interviews as a way to predict the future job performance and work-related personality traits of interviewees. Over the years validity of the employment interview has been under scrutiny, so it is no wonder that is has been the topic of many research papers. The definition of the employment interview is “a personally interactive process of one or more people asking questions orally to another person and evaluating the answers for the purpose of determining the qualifications of that person in order to make employment decisions” (Levashina, Hartwell, Morgeson, and Campion 2013, p. 243).

When the time for an interview is getting close, everyone starts feeling nervous and do not know what to expect. These feelings are common among people especially if they do not have experience. However, the biggest mistake an interviewer can make is to have too much confidence and think that he or she could get any position any time. This approach is completely wrong and could cost the potential hiring for the position.

The social work profession, considerers the individuals’ internal and external struggles, while working with the individuals to examine their relationships, family, work environment, community, and other things that might impact them and identify ways to help address problems and challenges.
