The group of people that I have is “Righteous among the Nations”. The reason why I am creating a memorial for them is to let people know that not all people were part of the Nazi, there were some good people who were against Hitler. These people were brave to help Jews at their own risk. Some of these rescuers helped multiple Jews during the Holocaust. The non-Jews that helped the Jews got an award at Yad Vashem in Israel.
The memorial that I will be making is going to show that these people tried to hid the Jews or get them out of the countries that the Nazis were controlling. My memorial is going to show two floors of a house. There is going to be a top floor and then a basement. In the basement is where Jews hid from the Nazis. This memorial
During the Holocaust, over six million Jews were killed, but there are only twenty thousand known rescuers. These rescuers are known as the “Righteous Among the Nations.”
The Korean War Veterans Memorial is an ominous depiction of an American squad on patrol alongside a 164 foot mural wall, to show that freedom is not free. The memorial is dedicated to those who served in the Korean War but more importantly those of them who were killed in action, are still missing in action, or were held as prisoners of war. The memorial was created by Frank Gaylord and Louis Nelson. The objective of the memorial is to remind the public of the dedication to the United States of the men and women who served in the Korean War. The memorial was designed to show the trials and tribulations that many of the military personnel faced during the war.
Anti-Semitism, hatred or prejudice of Jews, has tormented the world for a long time, particularly during the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a critical disaster that happened in the early 1940s and will forever be remembered. Also known as the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, an assassination by the German Nazis lead by Adolf Hitler.

During the Holocaust there were many different forms of resistance undertaken by Jewish people. These can be categorised into two main forms, armed resistance and passive resistance. Armed resistance was resistance by Jews and civilians who actively fought back, sometimes they managed to scavenge weapons and use them in attacks on Germans and the different enforcement groups such as the SS. Armed resistance took place mainly in ghettos and concentration camps however, also occurred on the streets of Nazi occupied Europe. Passive resistance was less aggressive and usually meant that Jewish people refused to deny their faith and still practiced their religion in some form. Illegal organisations, Jewish militias and underground political groups also formed, planning and executing attacks and resisting the Nazi rule in occupied Europe.
I would also make the focus “why are these men’s’ sacrifices important today?” I’d speak to a number of soldiers at Fort Benning and ask how they were inspired, also I would talk to historians about why these men were so groundbreaking for their time. The Master of Ceremonies I would speak to about his role and why it was an honor. If decedents were there I would speak to them about their hopes for their ancestor’s legacy and what the memorial means to them. People would care because this is a military area, as well as a diverse area. This monument is a tribute to that legacy. I could live stream the whole event of Facebook Live and tweet pictures and blurbs from the speakers.
Superiority and discrimination have been the underlying problem in many world-wide events throughout history leading into present day. Whether it be a caste system issue or a race issue, there’s always a group that labels themselves greater than that of another. This affair was apparent in 1940s Germany. The German people would be persuaded into a dictatorship led by Adolf Hitler, who while in power would give rise to Nazism, allowing the mistreatment of Jews to commence. This extermination would be known as “The Holocaust” translated to “sacrifice by fire” and would affect many different people groups during and after the event.
You bring to light the endurance and strength of those of Judaism. The mere attempt of Hitler to exterminate all Jews with the destruction of six million in Europe is unimaginable. In a previous nursing class my group presented a power point on Irena Sendler who was “The Angel of the Warsaw Ghetto”. She was a holocaust rescuer who saved over 2500 children using different methods to hide them, while helping them escape the camps. It was devastating to read stories of the mothers allowing Irena to take their children knowing they will never see them again. She was captured and tortured but refused to give pertinent information and was sentenced to die. She impacted society by preserving future generations of Jews who had gone to become doctors,

History has a strange way of coming back around when it comes to human civilization. It has been said repeatedly that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. However, just because there is a potential for danger in the future, this does not mean that humanity must ignore what once was. History is normally remembered through what is known as a memorial. When a memorial is put into a physical representation, it is then known as a monument.The need to memorialize events or people is complex; in some cases, monuments honor moments of great achievement, while in other cases, monuments pay homage to deep sacrifice. A monument's size, location, and materials are all considerations in planning and creating a memorial to the past. Examples of such feats are the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and even Mount Rushmore. For the latter of the

When I was younger, I always knew that my mom took her job very seriously, but I was never able to fully comprehend what she did as a teacher. Once I started getting older, I understood that in order to teach certain topics to students, she had to understand a lot about history. One of the topics she studied in order to teach her students was the history of the Holocaust, which indeed is very serious. Then I began hearing that word, “Holocaust,” in school and made the connection. That’s when the seriousness of her job started to resonate with me as a student as well as her daughter. One could probably say that this topic is interesting to virtually everyone who comes across it. However, for the reasons I indicated, it sparks a little bit more of an interest in me than the average person.
Who survived the holocaust? What are their lives like today? What has been the government's response towards those who survived after World War II? Have the survivors kept their faith? How has the survivors next generation been affected? The survivors of the holocaust were deeply effected by the trauma they encountered. This unforgettable experience influenced their lives, those around them, and even their descendants.
Americans have often used art to symbolize the relationship between themselves and their history. Therefore, art is used to honor and remember someone or an event where people died, through a memorial. As an example, The National World War II Memorial is a memorial to honor and remember the people who served in World War II. The success or failure of a memorial depends on how well it represents the image that people have of a certain person or event. Especially in America because they find the construction of a national monument so controversial that no memorial has been erected in the National Mall without a discussion. The National World War II Memorial on the National Mall was a poor addition; its location diminishes the formerly open space between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial, its design is vague, and it is a poor choice even when compared with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. A very good start.
