Islam and Christianity are very similar religions, and this is very present in their leaders; respectively Mohammed and Jesus. They introduced radical new ideas to their areas, and the religions they founded have spread across the world and have remained the two largest major religions worldwide for centuries. Mohammed and Jesus both had rather humble beginnings, but became two of the most significant visionaries, monotheists and moralists of all time.
Jesus and Mohammed were both, as their respective religions believe, “touched by God.” They both wanted their truth to be spread far and wide, in the hope of turning humans towards God and allowing them into Paradise. However, the Mohammed’s lessons do have one enormous similarity with Jesus’s: forgiveness as the ultimate tool. Mohammed, like Jesus, taught that no matter the situation, it was best before God to forgive those who wronged you.
Mohammed’s and Jesus’s importance to their religion and the world at large cannot be ignored. Both brought visions of Paradise, the news of a loving god and the teachings of forgiveness and equality to humankind. Their origins, methods and teachings do differ quite significantly at times, but their similarities exemplify how most religions in the world teach the same message of kindness and its rewards.
