After watching the film "Jesus Christ Superstar" based on a famous rock opera of the same name we are to write about the impression it left.
The film is telling about the last days of Jesus Christ's life, with a plot organized like a contradiction between Judas and Jesus. We all know that Judas is supposed to be a betrayer, thus a bad guy, but on watching the film it seems he was not that bad. Judas had his reasons, he thought Jesus to be too much "relaxed", not caring about suffering people. So, for example, he said that the money spent on ointment for Jesus could have been given to the poor. And that is reasonable. Judas understands that Jesus is just a man, but worshiped like a god, and thinks it to be the wrong way.
Jesus is shown in the film actually more like a man than a god. Though he is a good guy in the story, he is not almighty. He does care for himself and is afraid of death, but he tries to help people, with the problem being only that there are too many of them. He says that he used to be different when everything started, and now he's weak and tired. In some moments it seems that his followers' attention to him, his popularity and everyone's need to touch him are the reasons of his tiredness. …show more content…

He criticizes Jesus as he has expected more from him. Jesus seems to think of his future death as a way of being remembered, and Judas thinks it all to be just ambition. The money Judas gets for his betrayal he refused first and took only in order to give it to the poor. It is seen that Judas loves Jesus, and still something makes him betray the one he loves. Of course, Judas sees that Jesus is tired and can't do as much as Judas wants. But that is not the reason. Before Judas hangs himself he thinks that the God must have chosen him for that
