Jennifer loved working for the Bowie Animal Shelter. She'd been working there for about a year and a half and ever day was new and different. Most of the animals at the shelter were loved pets who had some how managed to get a way from their families so these families were looking for them and the reunions of family and pet were wonderful. Lots of hugs and kisser and licking and purring, and “It's so good to see you again,” and “We thought that we would never find you.” Lots of very happy people and their pets going home together. Some times though after a while there would be a pet who's family didn't come looking for them, then these pets were put up for adoption to go to a new family. There was still a lot of hugging and kissing and licking and purring as a family found it's new member and a pet found it's new forever home. These time were rather sad but Jennifer always knew the happiness would come from it as soon as the pet found a new family. Once in a while a family would feel so bad about not being able to take care of their pet anymore that they would leave it at the back door of the shelter during the night and Jennifer would find them in the morning when she came in.
So first thing when she arrived at work she would let her self in, hang up her keys, and put her lunch in the refrigerator. Then she would go to each cage to say good morning to each and every cat and dog. There was much tail wagging and head butting since they were all happy to see her again. She knew the names that had been given to each one that they were all was ready for their breakf...

What harm could it do to let her stay with him ? She held the door open while the dog and cat when in. Once inside the two turn to face her as a unit and the dog sat down and the cat was still in place. As she turned to leave and close the door Jennifer looked over her shoulder and for a moment felt that the cat had nodded her head in Jennifer's directed, almost as if it was giving her permission to leave. Jennifer quickly closed the door and shook her head. Breakfast for the other dogs and cats was going to have to wait just a little longer because she was going to have to give Bill her supervisor a call right away. There was something very strange going on here.
