The main character of a good story needs to be interesting and has to make you attracted to them in some way, and Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird does just that. Scout has many different features that make her as interesting a character as she is. To begin with whe still wants to act like a tomboy even though she is constantly being reminded to act like a lady. Aside from that she can also be very curious and rebellious since she is still young. All of these thing make Scout who she is. Despite being constantly reminded to be lady-like Jean Louise Finch still tend to take on actions far from it. Scout tries her hardest to keep up with Jem and Dill all summer long and they go everywhere together and do everything with each other. Jem does things with them to prove she is not “girly”. “Scout, Scout is very intrigued about the Radley house and about the case of Tom Robinson. When Scout and Jem pass the radley house on their way to school they always run because they were sort of scared. They were curious as to what was inside the house and curious about Boo Radley.”The Radley Place was inhabited by an unknown entity the mere description of whom was enough to make us behave for days on end”(Lee 6). Scout asks her father some details about the court case on Tom Robinson because she is curious. She asks a series of questions, "Do you defend niggers, Atticus?'...’Do all lawyers defend Negroes, Atticus" (Lee 75). Since scout is still young and has much to learn she is very curious. Scout has a very strong personality and this can cause her to become somewhat rebellious. Scout felt like running away one day because she didn’t want to wear a dress. “I felt the starched walls of a pink cotton penitentiary closing in on me, and for the second time in my life I thought of running away.
