Japan’s culture is considered to be very diverse and unique. There are so many interesting aspects and traditional culture about Japan. In general, Japan is well known for their brilliant work and excellent technology inventions as well as all Japanese are well taught to become good citizen and have strong sense of discipline. In the continent of Asia, Japan as a whole nation is classifying as one of the top ten country in the world to lived. Including, they are currently place in top 6 countries in the world with one of the lowest crime rate. Currently, the murder rate is about 0.4 per one hundred thousand people with over 200 police officers who are assigned to protect hundred thousand residents on a daily basis. The yakuza is one of the oldest mafia organization in the world, which people often refer the yakuza as "The Japanese Mafia." Many people around the world would often be terrify against any particular mafia groups. Mafia group is generally classifying as violent groups and society trouble makers. And how is possible for Japan to have one of the lowest crime rate in the world when they have the biggest mafia organization in the world. More explanation, the yakuza are associated with illegal business as other organized crime groups does, but there is a big difference between yakuza organization in comparison to other mafia groups. yakuza have move towards a different style; they have their own role in society. During the year of 1995, Japan receive one of the largest earthquakes disaster and a tsunami disaster that hit Tohoku recently back in 2011, in fact, yakuza were one of the first rescue cruel out there in the disaster. According to the article of “Yakuza to the rescue” the author explains that “The worst of times sometimes brings out the best in people, even in Japan’s “losers” a.k.a. the Japanese mafia, the yakuza. Hours after the first shock waves hit, two of the largest crime groups went into action, opening their offices to those stranded in Tokyo, and shipping food, water, and blankets to the devastated areas in two-ton trucks and whatever vehicles they could get moving” (Adelstein, 2011). This illustrate that yakuza image is not as bad as people think it is. Not only they aid people all around these tragedy disaster, but they took action and were faster than Japan government. When it comes to natural disaster such as earthquake and tsunami Japan has one of the safest and fastest government aid system. Indeed, the government was one step slower and less organized in comparison to the gang members of yakuza. Therefore, the yakuza were the first one that made a huge impact around this disaster.
