Jake's Life

Jake’s just an average kid from Wisconsin well, not for long at least. Jake’s whole life changes in just a blink of an eye. After a hard day at school Jake went home very haggard and just hoped for the best the next day. The next day Jake began walking to class, late he tried taking an alternate route. While on his way to class Jake came across an empty gymnasium with nothing but a basketball on the baseline. Jake picked the basketball up and started to dribble it. “ Jake Williams at the top of the key with the game on the line, he goes for the huge three-point shot swish! the crowd goes wild.” He chanted. Suddenly, Jake heard an applause coming from behind him an a stern voice following behind it. “wow, great shot” it was coach Peterson, the coach for his high school. “We could use a sharp shooter like you on the team, so what do you say? “,I don’t really think I’d be a good fit for the team that shot you just seen was luck i was honestly just goofing around. “ “ kid, I know a good shooter when i see one you should seriously consider playing, we could use a kid like you. Need some fresh blood in the team.”, as he begins to answer, he stutters and begins to think about playing basketball for his school team. Everyone would see him in a different light he would no longer remain “that weird kid from class”, no he would be Jake, the Basketball God. As he mind returns back to the conversation joining the team would be a sure thing. “well if you insist on me being a part of your team why not?, I’ll do it.”, “Great kid practice starts at 4 don’t be late!” All throughout the rest of the school day Jake continued to think about life as a basketball player, all the people who’d love him for playing rather than being “that weird kid from cl...

.... The man was a college recruiter and he’d been there all game. He said “ Jake, right? “ Jake exclaimed, “yes sir”, “terrific game out there tonight”, “thanks it was a big win for us”, “yes it was but let me cut to the chase, I’m a recruiter for the university of southern California and i think you have what it takes to do big things at our school”, shocked Jake courageously accepted the offer and felt like this whole experience was a dream, well not only a dream a dream come true. Everything happened so fast he was overwhelmed. He looked back on the days where he was just “that weird kid from class” and where he is right now six months later and how much he’s accomplished. He was just an ordinary, weird kid on his way to class but now on his way to the alma mater of USC. He thought to himself what a crazy turn in life while packing for college. “What a crazy turn.”
