Jackie Robinson didn’t just inspire people, he created a new way of life for African Americans. Baseball was mainly kept a segregated sport because most black players just weren’t good enough to have a shot at making it into the official leagues. There were also financial concerns; Some white people would not pay to watch black players or sit next to black people watching the game.
