The book that I chose to read was, The Call of the Wild, written by Jack London. How did Buck show his loyalty to his new master Thornton? In the story Buck struggles to find an appropriate master. We will discuss Buck’s lifestyle in the beginning of the book. Next, we will discuss his journey with various owners. Lastly, we will discuss how he felt and what he did for his new owner Thornton.

There was a dog named Buck who was an arrogant and mighty dog. Buck lived a royal life on Judge Miller`s machine in Santa Clara. Living an narrow-minded life, he has no clue that because of the discovery of gold in Klondike it has created a need for dogs like himself. Manuel, who was a gardener on the estate, decides to kidnap Buck and sell him so he can make some money, due to the lack of funds. After being sold, Buck is arrantly thrown on a train heading north.

While Thornton was paling for gold, Buck explored the forest. Buck, then, runs with a timber wolf and hunts for prey on his own. However, he returned back to Thornton`s campsite when he sense that a catastrophe occurred.

Seeing the Yeehats dancing over the ruins validates Buck`s suspicions that the Yeehats murdered Thornton. Driven by rage, Buck launched into a vicious attack, killing the chief and overturning the law of club and fang. Afterwards, Buck answers the call when a wolf pack initiates him into the packs rankings. He then runs with them eventually becoming their leader and a legend. In conclusion, Buck went from being an arrogant and narrow-minded dog to an instinctive courageous leader. Although Buck experienced torture from various owners, he was relieved from his abuse when he met Thornton. Buck loved and adored Thornton he had immense respect and showed heroism when he saved Thorntons life. When he was finally free from his owner, he ran away with another pack of wolves and eventually became
