He seems to only love the games but he hates everything else. Ivory seems to be a very confused, shy, and judgmental person. In my first paragraph I will be evaluating self to self-conflict and the character of Boobie Miles and his injury. Boobie Miles in the begging of the book is set to lead the team to a state championship game. There is lots of pressure and demand for success that has been put on Boobie by others and himself. But early in the season he is forced out of the season do to a knee injury. Boobie lead the team in all running statistics his junior year when Permian won a state tittle.
In the prologue of Friday Night Lights, by H.G. Bissinger, football team, Panther, has players who have fears/problems to overcome before a important game with their biggest rival the Midland Lee. The main characters include Boobie Miles who had dealt with a tragic accident on his knee the last game he played causing him to get surgery leading him to not play as well as he did before, Jerrod McDougal who knows he can’t make a collage team because of his height, Mike Winchell who lives in poverty with his mother, Ivory Christian who has a love/hate relationship with football, and Brian Chavez who is a gifted football player and student being on top in every class.

As his year went by Pat thought he had a high chance in playing college basketball so on the day of his first game as a senior Coach Mel Thompson from the The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. That night Conroy had an astonishing 22 pts which made up for his junior year where he left off on a rough note. Following the game, Coach Thompson came to the locker and was talking to Pat’s coach who he pointed out Conroy in the back changing which suddenly lead to Coach Thompson talking to Pat about how he would love to have him play at Citadel. As the year continued Pat had realized what an opportunity he had at playing college basketball but, he was perplexed as to why he had not received an offers from schools. That night Conroy went home to find his mother crying, Conroy formerly asked his mother “ why are you crying?” (Conroy 182) his mother’s response to him was “ I could not hold it in anymore Pat but, your father has ripped all of your scholarships.” (Conroy 182) from that moment on Pat’s attitude towards his father would change, meaning he was all on his own due to the fact that his mother was alongside his father. Friday night football - the night everybody is getting ready for. I can smell the grassy field and the sweaty players. It's five o'clock and I'm getting ready for the game. Taking my time with everything and making sure everything is perfect, from every single strand of hair being in the right place to making sure there are no wrinkles in my uniform. As I look at the clock, it says 5:45, I better hurry up because I have to be at the game at 6, and I still have to pick up your friend. I hurry out the door and speed down the road. As I race down the road, I'm looking everywhere to make sure there's not a cop anywhere. I finally get to my friend's house and wait for her. She comes running out of the house and gets in my car. As I go down the road, she is still putting her make-up on, making sure it is to her perfection. Finally, we reach the football field. We run down to the field, making sure we aren't late, but by the time we get to the field, our make-up is running down our faces and our hair is frizzed up. No one is there yet, just the football player's warming up and us. There is Jock Jams playing in the background to help get the players motivated. We start warming up so that we make sure everything looks good.

Chris develop problems due to longing attention. He begins to act out, hang around with the incorrect crowd, and get into fights.
Coach Herman Boone is the main African-American character in this film. He is a football coach who is brought in by the newly diversified T.C. Williams High School as a form of affirmative action. This character struggles throughout the movie with dealing with the prejudices of his players, of other football coaches, of parents, and even of the school board who hired him in order to try to create a winning football team. Another key black character is Julius Campbell. He plays a linebacker who ends up becoming best friends with a white linebacker on the team. He, too, struggles with prejudices from some of his teammates and people in the town because of the new desegregation of the team. The remaining black players on the T.C. Williams High School had very similar roles in the film. The movie I decided to analyze was Remember the Titans. I examined the dilemmas and ethical choices that were displayed throughout the story. In the early 1970s, two schools in Alexandria Virginia integrate forming T.C. Williams High School. The Caucasian head coach of the Titans is replaced by an African American coach (Denzel Washington) from North Carolina, which causes a fury among white parents and students. Tensions arise quickly among the players and throughout the community when players of different races are forced together on the same football team. Coach Boone is a great example of a leader. He knows he faces a tough year of teaching his hated team. But, instead of listening to the hating town or administrators, Boone pushes his team to their limits and forces good relationships between players, regardless of race. His vision for the team involves getting the players concerned in what the team needs to become, and not what it is supposed to be; a waste. Boone is a convincing leader with a brutal, boot camp approach to coaching. He believes in making the players re-build themselves as a team. When Boone says, You will wear a jacket, shirt, and tie. If you don't have one buy one, can't afford one then borrow one from your old man, if you don't have an old man, then find a drunk, trade him for his. It showed that he was a handy Craftsman and wanted done what he wanted done no matter what it took.During training camp, Boone pairs black players with white players and instructs them to learn about each other.
