Is Human Cloning Ethical?
In 1996 Ian Wilmut and his team at the Roslin Institute in Scotland made scientific history. They successfully cloned the sheep that would be named “Dolly” by transferring the somatic cell nucleus of a donor sheep into an unfertilized sheep egg causing the egg to take on it DNA. Once the eggs were fertilized they then implanted the egg into the uterus of a surrogate sheep. And in February of 1997 Dolly was born. Once the world heard the story about Dolly people started questioning rather human would be cloned next. Although no human has been cloned yet and in most countries it’s illegal to clone humans the question remains “Is human cloning Ethical?”. There are plenty of reasons why human cloning is ethical but I feel that cloning humans is and will always be morally wrong.
According Ian Wilmut back in 2002 Dolly the cloned sheep had to be euthanized at the age of 6 because of a lung infection that is usually seen in older sheep that around the age of 11 or 12. She was also suffering from arthritis that is normally seen in older sheep as well. When dolly was cloned they did not know the future health risk she would face. In face no one knows the health risk a human might face. Scientists say that animals that are cloned are often born with (LOS) “Large Offspring Syndrome”. LOS is when an offspring is born with usually large organs causing breathing and blood flow problems. The animal that is not born with LOS is sometimes born with impaired kidneys, brains and immune systems. Most of the cloned animals die within days or weeks because of theses problems.
Cloning can cause disruptions in families. For an example, let’s say a mother and father and their 5 year old son Tim was going out for pizza ...

...articular way or they might have a birth mark that no one else has. These are things that make would them one of a kind. But what would make someone that is cloned unique or one of a kind? Nothing, they could not be unique, one of a kind, or an original because they well be a mere image of someone else. And know this could cause emotional, mental, and self-esteem issues in the future.
I don’t know what the future may hold. Nor do I know if I will wake up to news headlines about the first human cloning but I do know where I stand on the issue of human cloning and the question “Is human cloning ethical?” Cloning humans is wrong but not only is it wrong it is unethical. I read many articles on how cloning could help cure disease, prevent genetic disorders, and solve infertility issues. In this But the case there are too many things that are wrong and I feel that the
