Accept our robot overlords! Actually, artificial intelligences, not robots. Artificial intelligence or AI is a program that can learn and improve upon itself whether at a sub, equal or above human level. Many believe that AI would bring humanity to an end as we know it, often due to movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Terminator, however those are fictional Hollywood blockbusters, not real life. In reality AI,s don't yet exist, however the human race is close to developing it. AI would improve life in many aspects. It would grant the military a new edge in combat. Robots with AI could do the jobs that we don't want to do or the dangerous jobs. One of the Human race’s greatest goals is to advance science and technology. the development of AI would be a great stride in such goal. Artificial intelligence would be a great benefit to almost all aspects of humanity and so it should be developed.
AI is a human-like intelligence that is exhibited by a machine or software (google definitions). It is a machine that can think for itself, make moral decisions and can learn on its own without being programed to do another task. We would have to create a device that could in a nutshell program itself. This is very difficult because we don't know where to begin. AI’s are not fully understood. Many people believe Siri to be an AI. This is untrue because siri is just voice a recognition software that is connected to a data base and just searches for results(6). Same goes for Watson, the jeopardy playing robot(6). Almost every robot needs user input, not necessarily from a controller. Robots and AI go handin hand, if you see one, you often see it with the other, simply because they are the perfect compliments. An AI can't do much without ...

When most people think of artificial intelligence they might think of a scene from I, Robot or from 2001: A Space Odyssey. They might think of robots that highly resemble humans start a revolution against humanity and suddenly, because of man’s creation, man is no longer the pinnacle of earth’s hierarchy of creatures. For this reason, it might scare people when I say that we already utilize artificial intelligence in every day society. While it might not be robots fighting to win their freedom to live, or a defense system that decides humanity is the greatest threat to the world, artificial intelligence already plays a big role in how business is conducted today.

When people think of robots, an image of a mechanical, stiff, talking, moving, human-like machine might come to mind. Robots are, in fact, computerized machines that are ultimately utilized to simplify larger scale tasks. They include control machines, computer controllers, or microprocessor based automated systems just to name a few. The ultimate goal of industrial engineering is to expedite processes; therefore, with such developed and modern technology, the manufacturing process is more efficient, cost effective, and there is almost no human error. With all its benefits the automation and robotics movement has made way for new fetes and greater prospects in economic terms for large-scale firms.
Humanity has both embraced and utterly rejected A.I., and we are often using A.I. many times without even realizing
Our minds have created many remarkable things, however the best invention we ever created is the computer. The computer has helped us in many ways by saving time, giving accurate and precise results, also in many other things. but that does not mean that we should rely on the computer to do everything we can work with the computer to help us improve and at the same time improve the computer too. A lot of people believe that robots will behave like humans someday and will be walking on the earth just like us. There should be a limit for everything so that our world would remain peaceful and stable. At the end, we control the computers and they should not control us.
...day. South Korea has set an official goal of getting a robot in every home by 2013 and the Japan Robot Association predicts that the personal robot industry will be worth about $50 billion dollars a year worldwide (Bar-Cohen 162). Only time will tell if these predictions are correct. As for now, however, the nonexistence of gyros, robot nursemaids, and visavoxes should caution mankind to be more conservative in the prediction of the future, at least until the science fiction of 1965 finally becomes complete science fact.
Artificial intelligence has become a big controversy between scientists within the past few years. Will artificial intelligence improve our communities in ways we humans can’t, or will they just cause danger to us? I believe that artificial intelligence will only bring harm to our communities. There are multiple reasons why artificial intelligence will bring danger to humanity, some of them being: you can’t trust them, they will lead to more unemployment, and they will cause more obesity.
The operations of the robots have also advanced from simple hard-stop, one-function, hydraulic actuated robots to the more sophisticated, high-precision, servo controlled robots that can be reprogrammed to do many different jobs.
In the end, these main problems of artificial intelligence result in the same problem. While artificial intelligence would prove to be technologically revolutionary by introducing new ideas such as quantum computers or robots, said new ideas could result in the downfall of the world itself. Being a human being with your own consciousness is better than living forever with no feelings or emotions. These are the reasons why the advancement of artificial intelligent should be halted or banned so no harm can be done even without the intentions.
