A hero is a person who stands up for himself and does not give into what people have to say about him or what he does in life. A mob is a group of people who are going along with what other people have to say about something and are too afraid to say what they think, so they go along with the other’s views and thoughts. Throughout the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus portrays the hero to the blacks; the other whites around him are acting like a mob against him because he supports the blacks. Whatever Atticus has to say in the trial means nothing. Even before the trial started, people were giving him and his family a hard time.
