ironment affected the construction Introduction This report will explore how the environment can have a huge effect on construction design, architecture, and building logic. This study will be taken from a book which discusses a fire that hit a building and caused the death of many people. The book we will study is “Traingle: the fire that changed America,” edited by David Von Drehle. The tragedy happened in the beginning of the twentieth century in new work city. The fire caused huge damage to the Asch building, also called the “Triangle building”, which was one of the new skyscraper type of structures in that time. They did not live in luxury; they had to work very hard to earn money . At that era there were two classes- the businessman class, which was formed of the wealthy people who had the authority on their business, and the other class, which was the poor immigrants who worked for low wages and were labeled as the labor class. Black and Harris, who came as immigrants from Russia, were not pleased to stay in the labor class, so they were ambitious enough to rise to the wealthy class. They entered the garment business to offer the “sweatshop.” This word meant in the early past as working more and more hours for less and less pay, while as the author mention the word can be defined today as any crowded factory full of poorly paid workers. The fire that hit the Triangle factory building took place on march 26, 1911 at 4:30pm and was a historical moment where a fire struck in the downtown of Manhattan in the Triangle Waist company. At that panicked moment ,some girls started to jump in crowded elevators when the flammable fire came toward them until the elevator could not hold more people in and fell down. Comparing that negative aspect system of the Triangle building and the positive aspect of building logic stairwells and elevators today ,we can notice that each floor has two to four elevators. Moreover there are much wider stairwells that people can escape from if a fire happens , and most buildings nowadays also contain special doors for emergency
