Iron Man is the infamous comic book superhero brought to popularity by the well-known movie Iron Man. The little details like, his true name, his arch-nemesis, who his character was based on are important. Iron Man was the founding member of The Avengers, many may have thought it was the loyal Captain America. This proves how little is known about Iron Man. There has been whole comic book series, movies, and TV shows based off Iron Man.
Iron Man first appeared in the Marvel Comic Book Tales of Suspense #33, which was published in March 1963. The protagonist is the owner of his father’s company Stark Industries. Anthony Edward Stark, better known as Tony Stark, is a genius, billionaire, playboy who suffered a severe chest injury while being kidnapped. His captors forced him to create a weapon of mass destruction. Instead, he built himself a suit of armor made entirely from iron. Starring Robert Hays as Iron Man, and Ed Gilbert as the Mandarin in season 1 (season 2 Robert Ito). This two-season TV series went through a massive change after switching producers in between seasons. Now it can hardly be recognized as the same TV show. Throughout the first and second series, Tony Stark is constantly updating and making new armor such as the Lava Armor, the Stealth Armor, the Magnetic Armor, and the Space Armor. In this TV series, Tony Stark is in love Julia Carpenter (Spider-Women). She occasionally gets kidnapped throughout the series. In the TV shows Tony’s armor folds out of a suitcase and he has to physically step into it for it to wrap around his body. None of his enemies knows that Tony Stark and Iron Man are the same person. Changes like these give the TV shows and the movies two very different story
