Investigation of the Spiderman 2 Trailer A trailer is an extremely important tool in making the film. It encapsulates two minutes of the film trying to convince the audience that that film is worth while watching using many techniques including the unique selling point. The unique selling point is a feature that is unique to that film. This can be the actor or actress that stars in the film or the subject of matter the film portrays or even the way the film is made. The trailer has more impact on the viewer than posters because it involves moving pictures and sound, this gives the viewer a feel of the film. The "Spiderman 2" trailer is altogether 1:27 seconds long this is enough time to catch the attention of the audience whilst not giving the plot away, also the studios have chosen to make the trailer of this length because it allows it to be more widely available, and this trailer can be found on the internet. If the trailer is widely available that would mean more people would view it therefore increasing the potential audience. The trailer starts of with the studio "Warner brothers" appearing. This is the studio that makes the film and raises the studio profile if the film is successful. Then a panoramic view of skyscrapers is shown. Toby Maguire voice over appears meanwhile twenty shots of Spiderman and the rest of the main cast appears in a period of twenty seconds this happens very quickly. There is intense sharp music inserted to add to the intensity and anticipation, the effect it has on the audience; makes the audience think it will we action packed with many more fights and special effects. This occurs because it immediately catches the audience attention with the shots of Spiderman on his web and the music adds to that. Then Toby Maguire says "I am Spiderman" this would definitely grab the audiences attention. Toby Maguire's voice is used because it is familiar to the audience. Subsequently the audience will see Spiderman ditching his suit and walking away in a long shot, this
Educational systems in America are impaired, and the very educators that are meant to teach are the one’s pulling it down. That is the apparent message that Davis Guggenheim attempts to convey in his documentary “Waiting for Superman”. He uses many strategies to get his message across. Some of these include cartoons, children, and those reformers that are attempting to pull the system out of the ditch that it has found its way into. He makes his point very well, and uses facts and figures correctly. He does leave out some of the opinions of the opposing views, but it does not take away from his point that the educational system in America is in need of repair.
How would mankind communicate to each other without names? Names are what describe people in terms of personality, traits, and association. That’s why names are immensely important and thus, used in films such as Bound, in order to create a deeper meaning in a character’s actions and personality. The film Bound is written and directed by The Wachowskis. The film is about two lesbians: ex-convict Corky, and lesbian prostitute Violet who is in a relationship with mob money-launderer Caesar but decides to escape from Caesar after meeting Corky for she fell in love with her the moment she sow her in the elevator. So Violet wants to leave Caesar for Corky, but that’s not all. She and Corky come up with a strategy to steal two million dollars from the mob and blame it on Caesar. "Your name defines you," says Gregg Steiner, a Los Angeles talent manager (Parenting). In the film Bound, characters’ names have a lot of significance in which some have more connotations than others. Each character’s name holds symbolic meaning to the character’s role in the film and this is very apparent among Corky, Violet, and Caesar as well as the supporting casts: Gino and Johnny Marzzone.

In Davis Guggenheim’s documentary Waiting for Superman, he exposes mainly a one-sided argument against teachers unions, by stating the unions are a “menace and an impediment to reform.” His documentary explores the tragic ways in which the American public education system is failing the nation's children, and explores the roles that charter schools and education reformers could play in offering hope for the future. Statistics show our nation’s student dropout rates, diminishing science scores, math scores, and schools closing due to lack of funding, but numbers fail to represent the names and faces of the children whose entire futures are at stake due to the inability to enact change. Bianca, Emily, Anthony, Daisy, and Francisco are five students who deserve a better opportunity in education. By investigating how the current system is actually obstructing their education instead of bolstering it, Guggenheim opens the door to considering possible options for transformation and improvement. Guggenheim uses certain cinematic elements like interviews and cartoons, to influence an emotional response from the viewers and manipulate their opinion for the argument against its portrayal of unions.
What components make a movie successful in cinema? Filmmakers have crafted a formula to successfully deliver the hero narrative. This formula consists of the hero’s journey and archetypes. Hero films typically follow a ten-step sequence to properly set up and execute the hero’s journey. These movies range from stories of transformations, searches, or a journey back home. Archetypes are used to employ character profile as well as add variety and depth to these stories. Ridley Scott directed Alien, in which Ellen Ripley embarks on a journey where she must survive an alien who is out on a murderous rampage and return back to Earth. Alien adds originality to its storyline by choosing a female lead instead of a male, but the film still incorporates the same heroic attributes that make a story successful. In this “going home journey” film, Scott is able to incorporate the hero’s journey and the official hero archetype towards the heroine Ellen Ripley.
The Lego movie is the story of a simpleton turned knight-in-shining-armor and co on their journey to the top as they brave life on the run from a benevolent dictator in order to foil his devious plot to freeze the world in his image for all eternity. To make matters worse, pretty much each and every citizen is completely oblivious to the full extent of the chaos that is ensuing. At first glance, life seems all but perfect, but in reality, this could not be further from the truth. Even if this is as obvious as the sky is blue, Lord Fussiness has managed to keep resistance at bay through means of manipulating the minds of his citizens into believing a false sense of safety and freedom under his every watch.

The set that Sam designed for the various scenes in Spider-Man is realistic and makes the viewer believe they are real, although, in the wrestling scene, Sam managed to make this scene and the scenes leading up to it so realistic that the audience don’t think that they don’t have planned wrestling matches in America. Mise en scène includes this and is one of the very useful techniques, and can have an overwhelming effect on the viewer, as everything that is on the screen at any one time is there for a reason, and has a meaning. It gives the viewer information on the surrounding area or people. For example, if the kitchen cupboards are meant to be white, but are a yellowy brown colour, this could mean that the person smokes a lot, or that they aren’t very clean. This is used to its full potential in Spider-Man as the director makes sure the viewer can understand everything about Peter, and give them an idea of what they are aspiring to be. Peters room is a typical sized, single bedroom, but in it there is things you wouldn’t think Spider-Man would have in his room. Like a computer and lots of factual books, but this helps create Spider-Mans...

Hidden Figures is a movie based on the true story of three pioneering African American women whose calculations for NASA were helpful to several historic space missions, including John Glenn’s successful orbit of the Earth. The Movie was set in 1960, where a lot of historical events were happening, such as the Space race between two initial rivals of the Cold War (The United States, and Russia). Also, Women and African-Americans were discriminated Against during the 60’s, but that did not stop Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy Vaughan from advancing and accomplishing what they accomplished. After all they did not only help themselves advance, they helped America advance. Hidden Figures was a very accurate film of how it was in the 1960 and how these three women went with their intelligence rather than their ego.
