Investigation of How Temperature Affects the Rate of Reaction of Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric Acid
I am going to investigate how temperature affects the rate of the
reaction of sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid.

The temperature of the sodium thiosulphate will be changed by heating
the solution to a known temperature.
The concentration of the acid remains unchanged.
I am going to do one experiment, changing the temperature of the
sodium thiosulphate. This is how they will be done.

·Heat Sodium thiosulphate in electric water bath to desired
temperature
·Pour 50 cm3 of Sodium thiosulphate into a beaker then put on the
paper with a cross
·Pour 5cm3 of hydrochloric acid in to a cylinder
·Pour hydrochloric acid into the beaker with the sodium thiosulphate
·As soon as the two substances are mixed together, the stopwatch will
start timing and it will stop when the cross is obscured
·Record results
·Wash out the flask thoroughly
·Repeat experiment again for 2nd results
·Then repeat using a different temperature until all temperatures have
been completed

Input variables In this experiment there are two main factors that can affect the rate of the reaction. These key factors can change the rate of the reaction by either increasing it or decreasing it. These were considered and controlled so that they did not disrupt the success of the experiment. Temperature-

We will set up a conical flask on top a cross. We will vary the
to be done. This was to find out what amount of each liquid would be
from 10cm to 50cm to make it easier to see the difference in a graph.
How Temperature Affects the Rate of Reaction in the Reaction of Magnesium and Hydrochloric Acid
Sodium Thiosulphate Rates of Reaction During this investigation I am going to investigate the rates of reactions and which changes will affect this rate. A rate of reaction is when a reactant is lost or a new product is formed during a chemical reaction. I am going to investigate the effect of concentration by mixing Sodium Thiosulphate, Hydrochloric Acid and H2O (water) until the reaction takes place and the mixture goes cloudy and the newspaper beneath the flask can no longer be read. Both the Sodium Thiosulphate and the Hydrochloric acid are soluble in water, so the concentration of either can be changed.
My aim in this piece of work is to see the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction in a solution of hydrochloric acid containing sodium thiosulphate.
The temperature at which the reaction is carried out Use of a catalyst Reaction equation is mentioned above but rate equation can only be decided by doing experiments. So, the following procedure can be used to carry out the experiment. Plan Equipment 2 Measuring cylinders Beaker Stopwatch Paper with black cross on it Sodium Thiosulphate (different concentrations) Hydrochloric acid (same concentration each time) Water (different concentrations) Pipette. Prediction I predict that the greater the concentration of sodium thiosulphate solution, the faster the chemical reaction will take place.
Effect of Temperature on the Rate of Reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric Acid Investigation Chemical reactions are used in our everyday life, they literally keep us alive. They are used in food, respiration and everywhere else in the environment. A chemical reaction mainly occurs when reactants react together to produce a new product. The speed at which this reaction takes place is called the rate of reaction. The product produced has a number of particles in the solution that has formed from the reactants.
that the rate of reaction must be fast enough to make as much of the

Investigating How the Concentration of Hydrochloric Acid Affects the Rate of Reaction with Calcium Carbonate
The Effect of Temperature on The Rate Of Reaction Between Magnesium And Hydrochloric Acid Planning I'm planning on investigating how temperature effects the reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid, the experiment will show whether the reaction will speed up or slow down with the change in temperature. Temperatures will range from room temp up until 70 degrees. The investigation will be a fair test because all quantities will remain the same for each test, each test will use the same amounts of hydrochloric acid and same size of magnesium, also the concentration of the acid will also not be changed.
