Introducing talent and skill
Talent and skill are oftentimes mistaken and confused in perceptions and conversations. They both relate to the ability of a person to work and perform on a specific task, although the difference between the two is from where the ability originates. Many believe that people are born with a certain talent and that only these selected individuals will be successful. This, however, is not necessarily true, as the concept of talent should be open to different individuals' interpretations. No one is already born a scientist, a dancer or teacher, yet as individuals, we can develop certain skills to fit in different categories. In conclusion I believe that raw talent is an advantage that a person holds in their genetics, on the other hand skill is something that is developed with hours and hours of work. In my opinion it is not right to tell someone that they are not talented or that they cannot make it. I think that the only unrealistic goals to an individual are the ones that the individual believes and makes unrealistic. The law of attraction states, “Focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results. People and their thoughts are both made from pure energy, and like energy attracts like energy” (Law of attraction). In the end talent is not crucial for success, therefore if an individual’s mindset is set to becoming successful then he/she will be successful, however a continuous build up of skills and hard work is needed to achieve success.
