Introducing New Software and Hardware
ICT Coursework-Spreadsheet

Mr Smith, who is the owner of JC SPORTS, has discovered three main
problems with his shop's basketball sales, these were due to:
1. The old-fashioned manual systems in his company. (Manual system).
2. The lack of interest for the latest new products on the market.
(Marketing system).
3. The lack of a new hardware & software systems. (Computer system).
Surprisingly, because of poor product handling, out of all the sales
in his sports and design shop, the amount of basketball sports goods
sold dropped massively over the past six months.
At the time, I happened to assist Mr Smith as he was recording down
his sales. Mr Smith was not very clever when it came to using
computers. He needed a quite a lot of helping out.
Due to the fact that I was one of his best customers, Mr Smith then
showed me his most baffling results that he recently found out. The
problem was that Mr Smith was pretty old fashioned and used the
ancient, long gone manual technology like the typewriter to sort out
his business instead of using the modern day computer software and
technology such as the word processor and the spreadsheet.
Since I was compiling this project, I offered to help him solve this
very problem by myself doing a series of analysis on the sales,
marketing and systems later on in that very same week. It was a
challenge. Mr Smith was very much obliged and gave me his sales report
immediately. I also advised him to shape up and use the latest
up-to-date, business & industrial technology around him and not use
his very old, former technology.
Later on at home, as I assessed the report, I took into consideration
any possible alternative solutions and objectives of the following
concerning a sales analysis, marketing analysis and a system analysis.
These were
==========
1. Write a questionnaire: Write questionnaire in Microsoft Word. (For
the customers- Customers will fill it in)
2. Do a survey: Plot survey results in Microsoft PowerPoint. (For the
customers- Questionnaires will be sent out to customers as part of
survey)
3. Enter all information and data into both Microsoft Word and
Microsoft Excel.
4. Cut down prices: this will help by attracting customers who would
like to buy the product at an affordable price.
5. Include deals: this is making special offers to customers that they
will find hard to resist.
6. Advertise: this will help more and more people, customers and
business associates know more about the product.
7. Introduce new appropriate hardware and software.

The Operating Systems and Productivity Software Publishing Industry is primarily comprised of companies that develop and publish operating systems and productivity software for computers and servers. According to the 2013 IBIS World Industry Report, “an operating system is the interface with which computer users interact, and productivity software includes basic applications like word processors, spreadsheets and slideshow creation tools.” (IBIS 2013) Over the next five years, revenues for the $38.6 Billion industry is expected to grow at an annualized rate of 6.8% to $53.6 billion (IBIS 2012). Meaning that the characters in the novel have no independence and woman have no rights to have an education and are denied to any jobs. Life for women during the Elizabethan era was just as hard as it was before Queen Elizabeth went into ruling. Society at this time was biased towards men, and as a result, the treatment and expectations of women were much harsher. Women were expected to only look after their household, and to become skilled in the duties of a housewife. Since the expected duties of women were relatively simple, this meant that girl’s education was not something that was always given. For most girls, they would never learn more than counting to ten, unless they married a nobleman, a situation which was unlikely in itself. However, this is an entirely different story if you were a female in the nobility class. Because of their status and wealth, they would be
In The Handmaid’s Tale, Margaret Atwood envisions a dystopian society governed by radical conservatism. Through her protagonist Offred, Atwood considers the political extremes that bedevil the citizens of Gilead. Atwood employs Aunt Lydia and Moira as foil characters for Offred to underscore the importance of political moderation.

Technology projects can be challenging to complete on-time and within budget. Analysis of some 13,000 plus projects provides a sobering account of technology project challenges. The Standish Group's "CHAOS Summary 2009," showed that only 32% of all projects succeeded and were delivered on time and within budget; 44% were late, over budget, and/or with less than the required features and functions. An astounding 24% of the projects examined failed, were cancelled prior to completion, or delivered and never used.
Computers are changing the world as we know it, and they offer an exciting new way of working. The news represented a complete turnaround for the corporate giant. Microsoft Chairperson, Bill Gates publicly announced his company's new connection to the Internet. The announcement rang through the nation. Gates has consistently ignored the Internet in favor of desktop computing. So, with Microsoft's approval, computers kicked into even higher gear . The pace of innovation continues to astonish even those involved from the start. If one wants to find enthusiasm, intellect, hard work, and imagination; then computers is the place to be .
The central unit is the basic part of the computer and includes all the main computer parts. It is the heart of the computer system. It is responsible for executing, or running the software. The software programs are translated into a series of codes made up of 1s to 0s that the CPU can understand. Every code means a certain operation should take place.
