Interracial adoption means placing a child who is of one race or ethnic group with adoptive parents of another race or ethnic group. In the United States these terms usually refer to the placement of children of color with white adoptive parents. Interracial adoption in America are seen less as a taboo today, but as out of the norm.. Interracial adoption is best described as a non-problem. It truly upsets some people but it is still not the worst thing occurring in the world. A significant reason in interracial adoption is economic stance. Adoption is expensive and in a NPR story on June 27, 2013 the ran with the title, “Six Words: 'Black Babies Cost Less To Adopt”. A black baby cost $17k plus legal fees versus the $29k plus legal fees for an white baby.
