Internal conflicts are full of emotions and misbehaviour actions, which is shown in the short story Sonia by:E.R Frank, Sonia hears that a muslim man had jumped off the statue of liberty, but what she didn't know was that it was someone she knew; Sarim was the guy that had jumped off the building Sonia didn't know this and as soon as her brothers told she she went into shock…”When my favorite brother said the man who had jumped off the statue of liberty was Sarim,I didn't believe it.”(Frank 308) She realizes how improper it was to have talked to Sarim in the first place,she felt as if this was her punishment from god because she had done something that was improper and something that wouldn't have made her parents proud. “On the short walk home that night, Nif pulled me back from my parents and older brothers and threatened to tell my father about the closet. i should've never talked to sarim… Shame filled my throat and ears like a hot swarm of bees.”(Frank 310) by the end of the story Sonia realizes that it is okay and that she needed to keep living her life so she wrote a letter to Sarim on page 319: “Dear Sarim i am sorry for what I put you though. This story starts off with the little girl named Laurence yep and she starts her life off with having asthma. This affect her hugely because her older brother has a really close relationship with her father because of the fact that when he was younger he played a lot of sports but like Yep had asthma she can't really play sports much without loosing her breath. on the other hand her older brother can and that makes him closer to her father… Yep feels as if she will never have that connection with her father and she would give anything to have
