School of Advanced Sciences (SAS) VIT University, Vellore visakhvramesh@gmail.com Abstract—iRPM is the abbreviation of Intelligent Room Power Management system. What it is doing is it will automatically control all the fan and lights in a room according to number of peoples in a room, intensity of light in the room and temperature inside the room. It is done with an Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller with LDR, LM35, IR sensors etc.
Index Terms— Intelligent Room Power Management, Room Power Management using Arduino, Fan speed control using Arduino.

As we know that now a days we all are very much lazy. In the case of switching off the lights , closing the taps,

The light will be controlled on two basis, first one is based on the number of peoples inside the room, which is detected by the help of IR-Photodiode combination and the second one is using LDR, according to the intensity of light inside the room at that time. Second one is the speed of fan, and it is controlled with the help of a temperature sensor called LM35. And the fan is controlled on the basis of temperature inside the room at that time. We are doing this project with a microprocessor called Arduino UNO …show more content…
In general Photodiodes are operated in reverse bias condition. The clear Photodiode can detect visible and IR rays to limit the Photodiode to detect only IR rays a black coating is applied to the glass of the Photodiode. The photodiode allows the current to pass through it if the photodiode is exposed to IR rays and it doesn't allow current to pass through it if no IR rays falls on it. The amount of current passed through the photodiode is directly proportional to amount of IR rays falls on
After a first reading of Marie Howe’s What the Living Do, many complicated feelings come out of my mind. In her poem, Marie Howe captures the human behavior that makes people obsessed with trivial issues until they overlook the important things that they could do to make their lives more enjoyable. Those situations actually have happened on most of us today. In most cases, people will procrastinate over simple chores and tasks instead of taking action and accomplishing these tasks. While many people will sulk over how unfortunate they are, they don't realize that they are in a better off than many other people. As technology affects every aspect of our lives in the modern world, it becomes extremely difficult to get off from the technological
The whole cosmos today is centered around the here and now. We thirst for everything to be done hastily so we can continue with our day. As a repercussion of that we tend to strategize our days in advance with activities to occupy
The “On Laziness” essay, written by Christopher Morley argues that philosophical laziness is a beneficial trait to possess. He illustrates this by using techniques such as humor, formal diction, and irony to convince his audience that is made up of lazy and industrious people.
The Unistep IRP Elexol EtherIO 24 Module is a network board that enables multiple devices to connect to an Ethernet network, communicate with each other, and relay information when changes occur. The IRP module is a micro-controller, integrated with many features for interacting with devices connected on a generic local area network; this module was designed to be used in conjunction with other network devices or modules. Some of the applications for the device include industrial automation, digital input and output functions, system monitoring, remote data accessing, controlled machinery, and remote power control.

The Happy Guest Relationship Management (HGRM) system has seen huge success in its implementation into Hotel Lugano Dante and Hotel Berna’s business operations. The system has allowed for the continued expansion and growth of these hotels, enabling Fontana to provide a five-star customer service experience within a four-star hotel. Through capitalising on technological innovations Fontana was able to achieve these competitive advantages and standout in an otherwise saturated market. The further development of this system will ensure that Fontana is able to sustain this success and promote future growth.

...r us, and we will become lazy. What are we going to do all day if we have machines to make meals for us, to do our laundry, and to clean our houses? We would do nothing. We would become like Vladimir and Estragon in Waiting for Godot-we would be doing nothing more than existing, which we have seen does not bring much happiness.
The needs of the students have to be supplied; universities may have to make good environments where their students can develop their knowledge. Universities need students and vice versa, in addition one of the features to maintain this condition could be the student room. A place where the student take his rest, with excellent features and privacy, like good lighting, It technology, the furniture and furnishing thought to be ergonomic, and a cosy place. This report presents these lineaments trying to give tools to design a student room to improve the performance, and give relax and rest; furthermore, aiming also to get a durable room for next student generations.
Also, the Oberoi hotels have come up with a distinctive way of becoming familiar with the tastes and preferences of their guests. It is noted that each guest who stays at an Oberoi hotel comes in contact with a staff member almost 42 times in a day. Hence, staff members have enough opportunities to determine the preferences and tastes of guests. Inputs are given by butlers, house-keeping and room-service boys which is fed into the centralised guest-history system of Oberoi Hotels. This system has profiles of over 11 lakh guests and includes minute details including their preference for room numbers with certain digits or for certain floors, types of pillows and beds and even their preferred type of flowers.
Most of the hotel has installed MICROS application in its restaurant to ease the service. This has certainly improved the communication between the kitchen and Restaurant. The front desk has Fidelio which is the worlds leading provider of enterprise applications for hotels and has range of software’s such as property management systems, reservations system. This helps in accessing the guest information, night audits, inventory control, profit management and report generation. The reservation system gives the staff instant room status and availability, making reservations possible at the touch of a button.5
Hotel industries can install surveillance cameras in corridors and use face perception system to recognize our guests. Besides, some guests may forget to lock the door after checking in at night. Then AI can prompt the customer by sending a message to the guests through their mobile. Thus, using AI can improve the service and safety of the guests
