IMPLEMENTATION
==============
Version 1
Front and Back page
First I inserted a line; this indicates to me that it is splitting the
front page and back page. This was then followed up by a textbox on
the back page for the surgery times, emergencies and contact number.
The last thing I did on the back page was inserting the logo, address,
telephone number and surgery name these were imported from the Shared
area. The front page included a text box for the title and a hamster
picture. The hamster picture was imported from the Shared area.
Inside pages
The inside pages only consisted of two text boxes and a hamster
picture. One would take up nearly all of one inside page and the other
just a bit over half an inside page. Then I went to the Shared area
for a hamster picture. This picture was similar to the front page
hamster picture but was not the same.
Version 2
Front and back pages
First I opened the program Microsoft Publisher to carry on my
implementation of Task 1. I had got the information of the surgery
times, emergencies and contact number from the Shared area. I typed
this in the text box I inserted earlier. Then I went onto the front
page to produce the title. This was done in Microsoft Word and was
imported into Microsoft Publisher.
Inside Pages
First of all I open the program, because it is separate. I carry on
the work by adding the text. The text could not fit in the frame. So I
had to rearrange the font size to make it smaller. Now that the text
was added I can carry on to put colour in the leaflet.
Version 3
Front and back pages
Now I needed to add any design features I need. So the main design
features, which was needed was the colour in the leaflet. S o I added
the colour in both these pages so that it was the same colour on the
front and back page. It covered everything including the text then I
clicked the “send to back” icon and it went to the background.
Inside pages
The inside pages were different colour to the front and back pages
because I decided to use a variety of colours throughout the leaflet.
So I chose what colour I wanted and sent it to the background.
Version 4
Front and back pages
The leaflet looks to be more appropriate now. This leaflet’s front and
back page has changed due to more colours to the textboxes. The
textboxes and title textbox now contain different colours and
different colours to the front and back page.
Kay encourages the usage of colored pencils and symbols as you progress through studying the Bible. For example, you can find all the references to prayer in a chapter and color them green with a colored pencil. Kay encourages you to stay consistent with symbols and colors throughout your entire Bible. Sometimes after evaluating a chapter, you will look at your page and feel like you have a color or symbol over every word in the chapter.
The Bell Curve is a book originally published in 1994. It was written by Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray to explain the variations of intelligence in American Society. They accomplished this by using statistical analysis, for the purpose of raising warnings regarding the consequences of the intelligence gap. This was also made to propose a national social policy with the goal of mitigating bad consequences that have been attributed to this intelligence gap. Much of the information is widely considered controversial. An example of this is the low African-American scores compared to whites and Asians, and genetic factors in intelligence abilities. The introduction of the book starts with a brief history of intelligence theory and recent developments in intelligence thought and testing. The author creates six assumptions that has to do with the validity of the “classical” cognitive testing techniques.
On April 9, 1835, a king was born. Leopold Louis Philippe Marie Victor was the son of Leopold I of Belgium and Louise of Orleans. As a young prince, his parents saw Leopold II as a weakling who was not fit for this world and they often preferred his younger brother and sister. His parents rarely spoke to him and instead sent correspondences through their royal secretaries. If Leopold II wanted to speak with his father he would have to request and audience with him. Leopold II learned that in order to overcome these feelings of being unwanted that he would need to gain the favor of many people. Court officials were certainly eager befriend the future king. They taught him about the government, showed him maps and gave him information about the world. Leopold II visited many colonies of other empires. He became obsessed with the idea of having colonies and a larger kingdom to rule once he became king. He looked to acquire or purchase many territories but failed to do so. Leopold II finally looked into the continent of Africa where about 80 percent of it was still under indigenous rule. He had finally found his land to conquer.
The context in which Marc worked suggests he employed these correspondences programmatically, Marc wrote: "Every color must say clearly 'who and what it is, and must, moreover, be related to a clear form."
Both of these pictures are the same painting, yet different feelings are provoked by each. To me the one on the left, the colorful one, is more intriguing. It jumps at you grabbing your attention and drawing your eye in, giving you a warm and lively feeling. The picture to the right seems a bit dull and emotionless, portraying a melancholy feeling. In the art world color is a good thing. It brings other elements to a picture that you can't receive by using only two colors. Color can represent many things, emotions, mood, importance, a specific object, or as we have come to know the word, people. People seem to be assigned a color that people think represents the type of person they are. Yet, unlike the art world where a color is usually linked to only one trait or emotion, like, black-sadness, white-purity, red-evil, purple-royalty, the colors that we assign each other do not have set traits that are encompassed with in each color. The only thing that is set with the categories of colors we describe each other with is the tone of our skin! The color of ones skin played a big role in the years between the late 1950's and early 1960's and defined the lines of desegregation, in the midst of this racial cacaos lied innocent children and how the case of Central High changed their rights to an education.
The sitar is a fascinating instrument. It can produce complex sounds that other fretted strings instruments could not. Twelve wire strings that vibrate sympathetically with the gut strings cause these unique sounds. The number of gut strings varies between three to seven. The strings are attached to a long necked, gourd like body, which could be compared to a lute. There are several ways in which it is played; however, it is unusually performed in a small ensemble or alone. The sitar is indigenous to the country of India and is best known from the performances of the Indian virtuoso Ravi Shankar. However, it wasn’t only used in Indian styles of music, but also in Rock music.
Intelligence tests have been developed by scientists as a tool to categorize army recruits or analyze school children. But still discussing what intelligence is, academics have a difficult time defining what intelligence tests should measure. According to the American researcher Thorndike, intelligence is only that what intelligence tests claim it is (Comer, Gould, & Furnham, 2013). Thus, depending on what is being researched in the test and depending on the scientist’s definition of intelligence the meaning of the word intelligence may vary a lot. This essay will discuss what intelligence is in order to be able to understand the intelligence theories and aims of intelligence tests.
It is a foolish thing to believe that books and formal education are worthless to the progress of man, but it is an equally foolish thing to believe that the entirety of human history and life can be contained within the dusty pages of a hardcover textbook. William Wordsworth’s “The Tables Turned” provides a vivid world of natural imagery combined with an impassioned attitude and neatly structured stanzas that strongly advocate the understanding of the brilliance of life without books, while Howard Nemerov generates a whimsical tone of mockery throughout the nonsensical singular stanza of “To David, About His Education”. While “The Tables Turned” by William Wordsworth and “To David, About His Education” by Howard Nemerov are significantly different in structure, imagery, and tone, both poets mutually advocate the theme of how all of life cannot be encapsulated within the textbooks of traditional education.

On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, located in the Gulf of Mexico exploded killing 11 workers and injuring 17. The oil rig sank a day-and-a-half later. The spill was referred to as the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, BP oil spill, Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and BP oil disaster. It was first said that little oil had actually leaked into the ocean but a little over a month later the estimate was 12,000-19,000 barrels of crude oil being leaked per day. Many attempts were made to stop the leak but all failed until they capped the leak on July 15, 2010, and on September 19 the federal government declared the well “effectively dead.” In the three months that it took to finally put a stop the leak, 4.9 million barrels of oil were released into the ocean. The spill caused considerable damage to marine and wildlife habitats and the Gulf’s fishing and tourism industries. The White House energy advisor, Carol Browner, goes as far to say that the Deepwater oil spill is the “worst environmental disaster the US has faced.”
On the ‘nature’ side of the debate is the psychometric approach, considered to be the most dominant in the study of intelligence, which “inspired the most research and attracted the most attention” (Neisser et al. 1996, p. 77). It argues that there is one general (‘g’) factor which accounts for intelligence. In the 1880s, Francis Galton conducted many tests (measuring reaction times to cognitive tasks), (Boundless 2013), in order to scientifically measure intelligence. These tests were linked to the eugenic breeding programme, which aimed to eliminate biologically inferior people from society. Galton believed that as intelligence was inherited, social class or position were significant indicators of intelligence. If an individual was of high social standing, they would be more intelligent than those of a lower position. However he failed to show any consistency across the tests for this hypothesis, weakening his theory that social class correlated with intelligence. Nevertheless, his creation of the intelligence test led many to continue to develop...
