Innovation and Accepting Change
"The love of things ancient doth argue stayedness, but levity and want of experience maketh apt unto innovations."
This quote by Hooker may be dated, but the meaning still applies today. People, more often than not, have difficulty accepting change. This tendency to conform and to become habitual is the very essence of what inhibits creativity and innovation. Innovation is a word that cannot be clearly defined; the concept is one that can be explained, but the application of the concept is the key to innovation itself.
The idea of 'teaching innovation' is somewhat of an oxymoron, for if something is being taught, it has already been established, and it is no longer an innovation. However, the importance of the concept of innovation is such that the idea is one that needs to be, and is, addressed in business schools. In this time of rapid change in the global economy, in order to be an attractive candidate for employment, an individual has to exhibit characteristics that they can adapt to an ever-changing environment. The concept of innovation, the importance of looking at things in new ways, and the significance of being perceptive, insightful and intuitive, are ideas that can be taught in a classroom, and are key to preparing individuals to be future innovative businesspeople.
Understanding if innovators are born or made is a question which traces back to the fundamental aspects of psychology. It is safe to conclude that some individuals are definitely predisposed to being nonconformist, and some people simply have the ability to think creatively more than others. However, were the great innovative thinkers of all time simply born that way, or was an initial spark nurtured ...

...ch are value-added and more efficient. Knowledge brokering has been synthesized into a methodical process in this organization, is a key factor to the continual innovation at IEM. This organization integrates ideas from solutions applied to similar problems in areas other than risk management to develop the most responsive and cost-effective solutions to their customer's complex problems.
The innovation process is one that is ever-changing. Creative problem solving and 'thinking outside the box' is a concept which is important in education and on the organizational level. Generating new and reapplying old ideas is the key to increased efficiency and gaining the competitive edge. Within organizations, the recognition of the concept and the adoption of creative and resourceful processes is vital for survival in the market today.

As Kerr is an educator and a professor in universities and not an economist, he examines his idea or creativity in the organization by making inquires starting from top management to the bottom in the organization and also to people who knew what the buyer or customer should be; then he would run it through his network in and outside GE to cross examination and double check or assessment (Davenport et al). Kerr’s successes effectively with the standing of ideas and creativity mainly rely on his continuing exploratory research with great creative thinking skills, expertise and motivation, and they also depend on his outstanding leadership and exceptional organizational culture of innovation in GE (Davenport et al, 2003).
Looking at things with a different perspective has been the mother of innovation from times immemorial. For example, Galileo defied the conventional norms in researching the solar system and explained the relative position of different planets with respect to the Sun. Additionally, Darwin’s ability to look at things differently lead to the concept of evolution at a time when God was considered to be the creator of everything in this world. Both of these examples clearly demonstrate that thinking differently is central for innovation to happen. The large tech company Apple highlights uniqueness within their “Think Different” campaign:
Innovation, what is innovation? Innovation is the creation and implementation of new ideas, methods, or strategies that facilitate a process, add value, or improve quality (Tidd & Bessant, 2013). In fact, innovation is the reason for all the new amenities of today’s 21st century. Moreover, innovation has brought forth new perspectives and ideas that have inspired numerous of businesses to expand and improve their daily operations, increase productivity, resolve dilemmas, and attain a level of success. However, such success cannot be attained without properly examining, planning, embracing, and managing innovation. In other words, organizations must carefully map the process of innovation in order to succeed.
But Innovative is something most people can do. Making a telephone takes both creativity and innovative. According to “Source B,”in paragraph 2 the author states “Creativity is a function of knowledge, curiosity, imagination and evaluation.” By stating this means that when inventing something better than others most inventors had a vision which leads to the second evidence. Also in source b the author stated “that discovery may also spur an innovative idea of how to apply it.” This means, with the inventor’s vision or discovery, the can use it on their invention which is supposed to be something better than the old one. The telephone or any other invention takes an inventor to have a vision. So that vision leads to inventing something better that even more changed people’s lives. For instance, now with the telephone, people can call other people that is on the other side of the world. So the old telephones are like 2 cans and a long string attached to it. With the inventor’s vision, it made something better from going something like cans and a string to a

Being innovative promotes an open mind which helps improve mental agility and fortifies your judgement. I am proactive in my ability to innovate and think creatively. I currently strive to search for innovative solutions to a problem set by learning all I can from those around me. I am working to develop these concepts and can look on my recent experiences and learn from my mistakes.
It is about having creative ideas, but to apply them to improve the quality of life, and defend them against the powerful force of social habits. This leads us to make a distinction between creating and innovating. A person can have an original thought but not put into practice we will never know if it can work or not.
Innovation is an object that was successfully implemented in production and making a profit as a result of scientific research or discoveries made qualitatively different from previous counterpart. The term innovation and disruptive innovation are similar. The innovation process is associated with the creation, development and dissemination of innovations.

Different approaches will be used to identify the cognitive processes that takes place in people when creative thoughts are involved. Experimental study will be used carry out the research. This will be essential since inferences will be drawn from the observations that will be made from the experiment. This will help in identifying the causative agents in places. The main area here the study will be carried out is a business organization. About ten employees will be randomly selected to answer out certain specific questions that will be asked to them. These will include questions such as what they would like to invent or improve in their current environment or whatever they have planned to do. This will involve a lot of brainstorming to the employees. A case study about the company will also be carried out. This will involve going through the history of the company to look at the improvements it has made since its inauguration. These will be based on the kinds of products that it has invented or improved and the names of individuals who carried out such improvement activities.
Innovations are basically when an specific idea is transformed into a better idea(Quinn p.287). According to Quinn, the best innovations come from teamwork. This means that when a managers is able to develop creative thinking among his employees, the value of the organization increases. Nonetheless, there are several barriers to creative thinking. Some of the barriers could be either cultural or personal. Cultural barriers are those barriers that keep society in their usual lifestyle. For instance, same sex marriage could be a cultural barrier since it is not accepted in most religions. “If we are able to diminish our cultural barriers to creative thinking, we enhance our abilities to think differently and develop skills for creativity (Quinn p.290).” Many ideas may not be accepted by society at the beginning, but at the end, that 's what makes someone unique and trendy. Similar to cultural barriers, personal barriers are those that make people fear failure and those barriers that are against an individual beliefs. Examples of personal barrier are Resistance to change, fear of making a mistake, fear or failure or looking foolish, inability to tolerate ambiguity or to relax, tendency to judge rather than to generate ideas, self- criticism, conformity, stereotyping, lack of information (Quinn

Creativity is a key part in the entrepreneurial process. It is the ability to invent something new or change something (Webster, 1976). According to (Cromie, 2000), Creative people show some particular characteristics. They find problems very interesting and are not afraid of obstacles; rather, they try to find out the solution of those problems.
