According to Henry Chesbrough the definition of Open Innovation is the use of inflow and outflow of knowledge to accelerate internal innovation, and expand the market for external use of innovation. Innovation is basically which involve both the inflow as well as outflows of knowledge , are the key features of innovation. Some of the major example of open innovation are Industry collaboration, university collaboration , sourcing of information to expert ideology are some of the few examples of open innovit .ation. But one has to be very careful because sometime benefits from innovation may involve expensive cost so one has to be very careful while using it.

In the increasingly complex world of health care, health care professionals make life-changing decisions for their patients and clients. The decisions can range from life to death and long care term for patients with mental disabilities. Not only do the decisions impact the patients or clients life but it also affects the patient’s family, caregivers and even the person making the decisions. Hence, healthcare professionals are advised to develop a moral reasoning and ethical decision-making process. The model used by most healthcare professionals is the six-step process developed by Purtilo and Doherty.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, Scotland; a Victorian era museum established in 1901 to express the pride, wealth, and cultural ambitions of the industrial city of Kelvingrove, was in need of change in the late 1980’s to be more relevant to modern audiences. Starting in 1990, when Mark O’Neil joined the Kelvingore Museum, Mark was tasked with bringing innovation to the entire museum by the then director Julian Spalding. After an initial start by O’Neil into implementing some of Spalding’s radical innovative ideas, O’Neil was side tracked into a separate project at the St. Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art. The St. Mungo’s work provided some insight and allowed experimentation with some of the innovative ideas Spalding wanted to use at Kelvingrove of using storytelling to organize themes within the museum. In 1993 with the work complete at St. Mungo’s O’Neil could was finally able to start on the needed change and find funding to bring about the change. Between 1994 and 1996 O’Neil developed and began implementing the storytelling concept when the Kelvingrove Museum submitted their request for funding for renovations to the museum. This initial request was rejected, which caused the O’Neil to totally reevaluate the approach taken in the change to the user experience as well as the approach to the application for funds. It took O’Neil and his staff two years to reevaluate and resubmit, but finally in 1998 they were approved for funding for renovations. Throughout history, man has been trying to explain man’s origin, purpose, and identity. By trying to figure out these difficult questions, many have come to the realization that either man is either theistic and believes there is a God and a supernatural presence or that man is atheistic believing that there is not God and rejects the supernatural. Because of this man can choose either of those world views. If they in fact choose the atheistic worldview they in turn will turn to another belief or set of values that reject the supernatural and replaces it with another aspect of life. One of those alternate philosophies would be process philosophy. Process philosophy is the belief that reality and life is not fixed or absolute meaning that everything within reality has the ability to change and progress as time continues on. Process philosophy has had a great effect on American society involving civil rights. Within the past century many changes have occurred including: voting and equal rights for blacks and women and rights for those who are homosexual. These rights are direct examples of process philosophy working to its fullest extent within American society.
A decision on whether or not an open innovation strategy is implement effects several stakeholders. First of all, it effects the stakeholders who are shareholders. Shareholders could be missing out on increased profits because the culture and organization of the company has become stubborn.

It is important to understand the political context in which a social policy issue is embedded. When I think of context, I think of action. An advocate that is trying to influence policy would be concerned about political contexts because it would determine the likelihood, suitability, and capabilities of his/her behavior (action) and conduct while seeking to institute change. By understanding the political context in which a social policy issue is embedded, one’s strategy and approach can be outlined to understand the manner in which changes can be made. Progress can be slow without understanding the political context. An advocate may understand what needs to be changed but may not understand why the change did not occur. The advocate may also be able to institute change in social policy issues if the advocate has a great understanding of the political context. The advocate must be able to align himself/herself with those that can be recruited to change the context of a policy. The advocate can also determine the severity of instituting the change and the probability of getting the change. “The appropriate level of action and type of advocacy strategy will depend on the political, social and economic situation prevailing at a given point in time” (Rietbergen,-McCracken, J., n.d.).
Over the course of this class I have learned how important it is to be creative and innovative in the way that businesses are conducted within the organizations. The ability to innovate is the “secret sauce” of business success (Dyer, et al., 2009). However, creativity and innovation cannot take place if the leaders are not willing to foster a culture of innovation within the organization. Amabile & Khaire (2008) asserted that, it is essential to motivate people to contribute ideas by making it safe to fail. Stress that the goal is to experiment constantly, fail early and often—and learn as much as possible in the process. Convince people that they won’t be punished or humiliated if they speak up or make mistakes (Amabile & Khaire, 2008).
