Have you ever wondered what the main rules of cheer you need to follow? I am here to help explain and inform you of these rules. There are many rules and regulations when it comes to cheerleading. Some of the rules are complicated and some are more simple. I am here to inform and explain some of the major rules that apply to cheer.
The first and most important rule when it comes to cheer is always know your cheers. The reason for this is that cheers should be the most important thing not what you can put up in the air. The main reason for this is when you try out for sideline you need to know the cheers. In sideline tryouts the coaches/judges look at cheers and not stunts so it is important to know them.

The reason for this is that when you have long nails as a base you may scratch the other base or back spot, or you may scratch your flyer when you go to catch her. As a flyer it is important to keep nails short because you may scratch your bases or other members of the team when you fall and they try to catch you.
The sixth rule of cheerleading is to keep all hair pulled back and out of your face. The reason for this is so that people can see your face and you look neat and put together. The other reason is that it isn't in your face or eyes when you are cheering or performing.
The seventh rule of cheerleading is to always take your jewelry out. If you don't take your jewelry out there is a possibility that it could get ripped out or you could injure somebody else. If you are unable to take the jewelry out because it is newly pierced you must cover it with a bandaid to lower the risk of injury to you or someone else
The eighth rule of cheerleading is don't cheat during conditioning. When you cheat during conditioning you are not only cheating yourself but the team. If you want to hit more advanced stunts as a whole everyone should put in the time and effort to make that
