Robots are not just used in factories there also being used in grocery stores, libraries, cashiers, and even surgeons. Would you be ok with a robot working on your heart during open heart surgery? Robots have become so advance they are now working in surgical rooms and procedures. Robots have advanced medial procedures so much over the last coup of decades. Neil Ogden says “ Robotics has the potential to allow minimally invasive heart surgery with the chest completely closed.” (Bren) I will be talking robotic surgery and I will be explaining why I chose the side I did. The robot mimics the surgeons movements into smaller more price (Bren) During a gall bladder procedure a robot took 50 minutes long than a surgeon would. Robots are still very new in hospitals but researchers are trying to make robot do a surgeons job in just half the time. When surgeons perform heat surgery they make a large incision in the chest and then they open up the rib cage. Robots now are performing the same task with the chest completely closed. (Bren) A new robot called the Da Vinci systems is changing the way surgeries are performed. The Da Vinci system gives surgeons greater control of there movements. The robot also has a video camera that is magnified 10 times better than the eye. This allows surgeons to see more clearly and make better precisions. (Dunkin) Robots are becoming more and more common in the care field. Robots are now replacing taxi drivers, bartenders, and even help desk workers. Robots intend to do a better job that humans because they are designed to do a specific task. (Lyons ) “The repair rate for mitral valves is only 50%. With robotics now were at about 98% because of the precision the robots has.” says Dt. Murphy.
