Spencer Gallup English Altidis January 27, 2015 Excitement, something everyone wants to experience. Excitement can drive people to do intense things. On April 25, 2007 Michael Vick’s excitement ended. Michael Vick is a famous Quarterback in the NFL for his speed and skill. He played for the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Jets. But his career came to a halt in 2007 when he was arrested for dogfighting. Excitement drives people to make decisions that they wouldn't normally make. Although Michael Vick is a famous NFL player, desires for excitement drove him to make immoral choice by forcing dogs to fight to the death, therefore losing his reputation and his job. Michael Vick is a famous Quarterback in the NFL who enjoyed excitement. many animal lovers and animal associations were angry with Vick (Why We Shouldn't ). Many people demanded that Vick get serious punishments. In April 2007 vick was arrested for fully being involved in a six-year pattern of illegal activity that included dogs being savagely electrocuted, drowned, and beaten to death( Bershadker, Matthew). Vick served 23 months in prison. Many people think this isn't a fair punishment because dozens of dogs were chained to car axles buried in the ground while they fought, sometimes to the death. Several dogs were shot, Two were hosed down, then electrocuted. Three dogs were hanged, and three more dogs were drowned. When dogs were disqualified after jumping out of the ring during a fight, Vick had his associate, Purnell Peace, shoot that dog in the head with a .22 caliber pistol (Stuart, Tessa). After all of this he only served 2 years in prison, this isn't enough because he knew he was breaking the law. he should have had a longer sentence because he did this for 6
