It’s a worldwide event and everyone loves it, do you know what it is? Olympic wrestling is a great thing for this world. Wrestling is the best thing the Olympic has picked up. Three things to know is the origin of wrestling, the science of wrestling, and why wrestling is good for the Olympics. Let’s get started on the news you’ve been waiting for.
The origins of wrestling is where it all starts. Wrestling is one of the oldest forms of combat. Wrestling has always been popular in ancient Greece. Wrestling is as old as 15,000 to 20,000 years in age. The main facts that have been proven are, there are cave drawings in France that have drawings of men wrestling, and the caves are nearly 15,000 years old. Some of the moves sketched in

Today’s work force is very competitive and there is more wrestlers involved in this work force. The reasons why is because wrestling demands you to control your body with your mind. It also teaches self-control and pride. More enduringly than any other sport, wrestling teaches self-control and pride. Some have wrestled without great skill—none have wrestled without pride.” This quote is from the great man Dan gable. It has been proven that people who have been in sports get a higher level job than those who have not been involved. It has also been proven that wrestlers show higher attributes for the work force than anyone else that has been in the sports involvement. Socrates once said, “I swear it upon Zeus an outstanding runner cannot be the equal of an average wrestler. No one can be compared to a wrestler they just stand out to anyone they have that look to them. Wresters will not give up until the job is done or until they are told to quit. Wrestling is thought to demand more individual sacrifice than any other sport out there. Wrestling helps the individual to feel both defeat and success. Wrestlers have been proven to set higher goals in life than those of any others. Dan gable has also said “one you’ve wrestled, everything in life is easy.” Cooper, S. (2012, July
You see sports everywhere, on your TV and even your local park. The value of sports in the average American is astronomical, sports is a major priority in people’s life. Sports teaches young kids how to be successful (and not successful) at life. There is so much that goes into sports that people who never have played will never understand. With each sport there is specific skill that one must master to be good, and with that takes hours and hours of hard work. You can talk about a certain individual’s skill and capabilities that make him great, but the real value of sports lies within a person. Sports creates determination and a competiveness that can be used in other areas of life, not just sports. There are millions of kids who attempt to become professional athletes but as the level of competition increases the number of athletes decreases, very few of them ever becoming a professional athlete but they are able to take what they have learned from sports into different professions in life. When a kid spends hours in the backyard perfecting his swing it can translate to the kid spending hours of hard work in his job. Companies and business like to hire ex-athletes because they already know what kind of person they are, hardworking and

Wrestlers practice countless hours on and off the mat for regulation matches no longer than six minutes. Six minutes doesn’t seem like enough time to crush a dream, but it is. Wrestlers dreams are faced with this challenge every time they step on a mat. Their dreams of success in wrestling are put to the test every match. No one else can wrestle for them but themselves. Wrestling is a good sport because it has a different level of team purity and individual intensity that separates it from other sports.
I had little to no motivation for a while and thought that maybe wrestling wasn’t the sport for me. I had shown promise in practice but as soon as I got on the mat for a tournament or duel I just drew a blank. I wasn’t executing any of the techniques I had learned after so many repetitive drills. I wasn’t the only one that had faced such miserable losses but it felt like it. My teammates helped me through my rut by giving me additional advice during practice and being in my corner while I wrestled matches. It was a great feeling knowing that I had people who had my back whenever I needed help. The wrestling team was a close knit group that dealt with all our problems together. We worked hard and played hard together till none of us could go any further. We were each other’s motivation, rivals, and family on and off the mat. If I had any doubts about a match my team thought the exact opposite and made sure that I understood why they believed so. But what made us a strong unit was the fact that we had similar goals and values. None of us wanted to lose and planned to make it past districts. We all wanted to take home hardware not only for our own self recognition but also to bring back a trophy to put on our principal’s desk who just so happened to love the wrestling program about as much as our team. All of us valued the effort that was put into every early morning practice so no one looked down on each other. The connection we had as a team made my experience wrestling all the more worth
Wrestling also helped me make friends that I see often and has given me a sport that I finally enjoy since I literally despise all other sports such as football, baseball, basketball, and so on.
Without wrestling, there would be no fighting, no self-defense options or maneuvers, or any way for someone to be in the best shape of their life, without being in the military or special workout programs. Involved and used in everyday life, wrestling is not given the credit or respect that it deserves, for the sole fact that it is no football or basketball, and people don’t usually grow up doing it everyday in the local neighborhoods. Myself. I am a naysayer. Works Cited Barron.
Wrestling is a great sport to better yourself and earn a bunch of awards and titles to look back on later on in life. It 's something i will never forget and cherish always. But the memories of losing all the weight and making myself miserable for all those seasons is something i will not miss. People around me were only worried about the medals i had gotten and not about my personal being, that 's where wrestling goes wrong. That 's what needs to change in the future for not only wrestlers but the people around them as well.
Wrestling is a sport of grappling with an opponent trying to take them down with a throw or showing on them or hold them down on the ground. In the Ancient Olympics they had two types of wrestling styles called Orthia pale and Kato pale. Orthia pale is like the standing position called neutral in modern wrestling you had to throw your opponent three depart times to win the match. “OLYMPIC GAMES.” Wrestling has a lot of the grappling techniques. Wrestling has been around for a long time most of the moves from 5000 years are still being used today.
Imagine that you’ve just started wrestling and this is your very first year. You are wrestling against the very best kid in the country and everybody you know is watching. The worst case scenario is that you get pinned in less than 10 seconds. After all though you have no hope because you have only made it to one practice in the whole season and this is your very first match. Eventually the match starts and you are just shaking and tears are falling down your cheeks and the match is only five seconds in. The opponent takes a shot and he takes you right to the mat. He has this mean devilish look in his eyes and you look like a sad puppy while you’re wrestling him. The opponent rolls you to your back and pins you in less than twenty seconds flat. All you want to do after the match is leave and never see anyone ever again. Hopefully this never happens. One way you can prevent it is by knowing the three main keys to being a good wrestler.
Wrestling isn't a well known sport, but it is one of the most mentally and physically challenging sports there is. The Olympic Games. The biggest international sports competition in which the worlds’ best athletes compete from all around the world to win medals for their countries. The Olympics have been a worldwide tradition since the eighth century BC, but it has hardly benefited us as a species. Every time we have the Games, our resources are abused in order to create the Olympics we desire. Huge amounts of money are used to build venues and make medals, only leading up to the countries who host the Games going into debt afterwards. There are only rare cases in which the countries earn money from hosting the Olympics, but most of the time the debt that they get themselves into take years, or even decades to pay off. You might ask yourself, why do we even host the Olympics, if it has these huge disadvantages? The answer is because we want pride for our countries, no matter how temporary it is. Knowing this, we can safely say, that the Olympic Games do not help us grow as a species.
not a new sport by any means. Professional Wrestling has been around since the 1800’s
In a similar vein, the consumer culture in sport and sporting events is also greatly gendered in the past. The consumption of sport and sporting events appeared in every culture that provides a mechanism which reinforced and defined a separation between men and women. Studies throughout history (e.g. Hargreaves, 1994; Bell, 2008) noted that sports for women (e.g. golf and croquet) were more informal and recreational in nature, that women who consume sport are required to adorn beauty and indolence, instead of competiveness (Bell, 2008). Unlike women, the consumption of sports and sporting events has long been regarded as what Fischer and Gainer termed - a ‘male-only social institution’ (Fischer and Gainer, 1994: 42). It is perhaps best
Violence, profanity, gratuity, and sex sells in our civilization. Professional wrestling capitalized on all those in its heyday. Those larger than life figures were characters an audience watch and wanted to be. They were told to eat there vitamins and say their prayers. They saw these professionals jump of ladders onto tables, and they tried to emulate what they had sawn. This same industry had an audience yelling “suck it.” This is the industry with so much influence. This same audience has had moments when they tried wrestling maneuvers and killed their “opponent”, most of the time the opponents were family or friends. In this study do viewers who watch pro wrestling have differen...
Sporting competitions between different countries serve purposes on the basis of title, tradition and the exchange of sporting spirit. Australia participates in over 1000 competitive and non-competitive sporting events worldwide. Australia has been both repented as a nation and as a joint force with other countries. Regardless of reason, the age-old sporting culture has been constantly improved and strengthened with every year, an example being the Olympic Games first held in Athens stretching back to 1896, more than a century ago.
