Information Technology and quality customer service: How is this achieved at the County of San Bernardino?
In times past quality service was not important to managers and staff that worked for the County of San Bernardino. However due to the proliferation of corruption and mismanagement taxpayers are demanding more for their dollar. It is a known fact that when local government is run efficiently more people can be put to work. The money saved from this can in turn be used to benefit the local cities. Civic improvements can be made instead of paying for people to sit at home. To create this quality service information technology needed to be implemented. This where the BAS or (Business Applications and Support) division enters the picture. The mission of BAS is to provide quality computer software support through a customer service oriented methodology.
A while back, before ITSD, there were ASU (Automated Systems Unit) analysts who lead and coordinated automation projects. They would gather up the requests from the different SSG divisions/departments, do a preliminary analysis, write a work order stating the request and/or problem that was to be solved through automation. The work order would then find its way to ISD (Information Services Department) where it would be assigned to a programmer analyst who would do an in-depth analysis with the help of the ASU analyst and define the requirements for the automation project. The programming would begin and soon, a new program was created and deployed. The requests and problems soon began to multiply and expand until it was like a virtual snowstorm of requests, too many for one small unit to keep under control.
Help arrived around 1990 in the form of the Automation Project Administrator – the first of the Automation Coordination Specialists gathered together to relieve some of the burden falling on ASU. The Automation Project Administrator soon gathered in a handful of Automation Coordination Specialists who took on much of the job of the initial analysis of automation requests and problem definition. They met with the users, defined the problem, wrote the initial work order, which then went to ASU to forward to ISD, and often worked with the ISD programmers. The two units, ASU and ACU, found themselves still unable to keep up with the many automation requests, particularly since ASU had years before branched out into computer hardware requisition and maintenance.

The purpose of this analysis is to identify my personality type, temperament, and how it relates to my behavior and success in the workplace. The first phase of this paper is to identify my four letter personality type using the Jung Typology Test which is based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers personality type theory (Jung Typology Test, 2016). I will also discuss where I fall within Keirsey’s Temperaments; this personality typing combines two of the four sets of preferences in to four distinct temperament categories (Personalitypage, 2015a). Keirsey identified four basic temperaments known as Guardian, Rational, Artisan, and Idealist (Keirsey, n.d.). I will explain each of the four letters of my type and provide specific examples of how they relate to me in both a professional and personal level. In the final phase I will discuss my personality strengths and weaknesses and how I can use the assessment for overall personal growth.

I have realized that to be an effective contributor to an organization, there are a numerous breadth of qualities to be desired. In obtaining the results from the personality tests, I have a better perception of my strengths and weaknesses within my personality. This will allow me to have a new perspective on how and why I behave in particular situations. Therefore, I know what my weaknesses are and work to be stronger in those particular areas.
Surveillance cameras have helped hundreds of law enforcement agencies solve thousands of crimes throughout the nation. They have become so helpful that most law enforcement agencies are planning on setting them up on street corners, buildings, publication parks, and on their own officers. There are many cities across the nation that have began to use surveillance cameras. Setting up cameras is a pivotal technique to solving and preventing crimes. Although, it is often argued that having law enforcement surveillance cameras set up throughout the nations communities is an invasion of privacy, citizens should sacrifice a little bit of privacy in return for their safety and protection of civil rights against criminals and police officers.

The Jung Typology Test described me and my habits exactly. In addition, my reading and research has helped me realize there are no “good” or “bad” personality types just different ones with both strengths and weaknesses but they are all relative. While one may compliment others better than another, all are needed in order for the workplace to be successful.

Another role is to assist the organisation to make decisions by preparing different reports and evaluating information. It also provides a company with a control and safeguard internal information ((Kim and Solomon 2006).
Customer service is constantly evolving. A few decades ago, businesses considered customer service an unnecessary expense. Now, companies view it as a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Research reveals that “80% of CEOs believe they deliver a superior customer experience, but only 8% of their customers agree”.
Basically the government wants to see what we are up to 24/7 which is wrong for us now in stores and businesses I don’t really care for because those are to help catch thieves in the act of stealing store goods like TV systems, games systems and a lot more but really they invade a lot of privacy. Security cameras can be found in shopping malls, stores and in schools all across the US to help prevent theft in those buildings with security cameras can be benifituary in the places to catch robbers thieves shoplifters and employees not doing their work on camera.

I am an ISTJ with unique personality strengths and weaknesses. My strengthens are being hardworking, productive, efficient, and driven (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, 2002, p. 306). In opposition, being compulsive, inexpressive, and driven by routines are my weaknesses (Kroeger et al, 2002, pp. 308-309). Customer service has been around for many years. When customer service first came into place in the business world, it was in stores. In society today customer service is with any job with any company. “Customer service is not a department, it’s everyone’s job. -Anonymous”. (Walter). Customer service is taking care of your customers. Every customer needs to be treated the same with excellent customer service no matter the business or the age of the customer. All employees need to adapt to each customers’ needs in order to provide the best experience possible.
Personality traits can be manifested as strengths or weaknesses depending on the situation, and personality tests can help individuals maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses within the organizational structure. Organizational behavior is critical to organizational effectiveness, and these tests can also point individuals toward certain careers or organizations that are good fits.
