The Librarian’s Thesaurus defines information need as “that need which library services or materials are intended to satisfy” (Soper, 1990). Maurice B. Line has defined information need as, “what an individual ought to have for his work, his research, his edification, his recreation etc”. (Line, 1974) 1.5 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Information technology (IT) is the acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics based combination of computing and telecommunications(Information Technology, 2011). Artificial intelligence: The term ‘Artificial’ means something man made or not natural. ‘Intelligence’ is the ability for reasoning, perception, learning and innovation.
