It’s basically just a way of saying “Hey, this person doesn’t deserve to live because I don’t want them to. ” In fewer than several cases, women get abortions for an “understandable” reason. Rape, with the case of incest is the only understandable reason in which I think abortion should be “legal”. First off, the child would be weirdly related to the mother, father & whatever other extra family members there are. Not to mention incest is legally forbidden. I’m sure that being raped by someone in your family can bring on lots of stress & confusion, so it is completely understandable why most would get abortions under this circumstance. Other than rape & incest, I see no fathomable reason as to why it should be legal for someone to kill an innocent baby.
Abortion may not be a personal choice but it is a grave offense against The Creator and His creation. Being pro-life has always been an issue in religion and primary in its statuses have been Catholics across the country. Church teaching on abortion is clear and unequivocal. There are no omissions or compromises. If you believe in living life, abortion should never be an option. "Pregnancy termination" stops the beating heart of a growing human being and is basically reversing the most basic principle of human nature. It leaves America out to be a country that is unable to replicate itself without the support of immigration. You were once a child that lived life breathed air. But now you are an abortionist, a person that kills babies. If you don’t feel bad about your deeds, then I will for you. You couldn’t possibly abort a child & feel like it was the 100% positive & perfect thing to do. You couldn’t possibly feel “productive” afterwards. Even though this may not...

...lives are lost through abortion. Females can also cultivate a loss of their fertility or develop more than before miscarriages after an abortion. Not only are you taking another being’s life, you are risking putting damage to your own body as well.

How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
Abortions are very selfish and a cruel way to end pregnancy. Abortions wouldn’t be needed if females would take responsibility and either use contraception or own up to their mistakes. Abortion is murder no matter how you look at it and murderers should be punished for their actions. Choose to be pro-life and stand up for the innocent babies that can’t.
An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. Abortion is and has always been an important matter. Abortion is a growing issue in America because; it affects many people; the women who will have the child, and the men who conceive the unborn fetus. When it comes to the Pro-life v. Pro-choice discussion the controversy approaches when the idea of life is defined. Most religious people are pro-life because they think that life is create the moment that the child is conceived they also believe that the fetus should be protected. While others believe that each women should have the right to decide what happens to her body. Those who believe in pro-life don’t understand that there are reasons why women choice to abort and that abortion can’t be beneficial. If abortions were made illegal it would take the right to choose what happened to her body which would question our rights. If the government was able to force a woman to continue a pregnancy could they force a woman to use contraception or undergo sterilization to prevent pregnancy? These questions seem ridiculous, but if our government can force us to continue pregnancy what else can they do. The fact of the matter is that women deserve to have a choice.
I agree with Jennifer’s stance on abortion. I do not believe it is right for the Catholic Church to be telling women that they must keep their baby. It is a personal choice, and women are given the freedom to make their own decision. I am not saying that everyone should get an abortion, but if a woman was raped for example, she should not have to keep that child. That child may be difficult for the women to cope with and may even be neglected. I do not believe the Church has the ability to take away rights for
If anyone were to ask what they felt once they gave birth to their child what they felt, the mother would say she felt so much love she never thought she could have for one person(s). Women who experience abortion mourn the death of their child afterwards. The abortion process is harmful to the women (Millar, 501). Though not really recorded on their emotional state, many woman find themselves depressed at the loss of their baby. Most women that chose to speak about their experience said they had suicidal thoughts after getting an abortion. This emotional scarring may vary depending on the woman and her mental and emotional stability when getting an abortion. We should treat abortion as a loss. A loss through the death of a child. There’s a profound amount of grief and trauma a woman goes through getting an abortion (Millar, 502). If people, our society, were to think of abortion as a loss then many people would reconsider getting an abortion. Women who are often grieved by this loss, tend to fall into depression and develop other emotional tendencies that aren’t healthy for them. That’s another reason why they have women go through sessions with a doctor before getting an abortion. You may think you are ready, but it’s nothing compared to experiencing the
Abortion ends the life of an unborn child before it has a chance at life. Arguments have been made that the fetus is not a child nor alive until it’s born, however, according to biology life is a distinctive characteristic of a living organism from dead organism or non-living thing, as specifically distinguished by the capacity to grow, metabolize, respond (to stimuli), adapt, and reproduce. A fetus is a living organism, grows inside the womb, it does respond and adapt to its environment. The fetus also has cells dividing and reproducing which makes it a living being according to biology, which is the study of living things. Therefore, abortion is ending the life of an unborn child.
For many years, the morality of abortion has been questioned by two perspectives: pro-choice and pro-life. While modern culture explains that abortion is a woman’s free choice if she does not want the unborn baby, the Catholic Church teaches the world that from the moment of conception there is a child with a soul within the womb, and to abort it would be to murder an innocent being.
Abortions are wrong morally for many people. People of religious faith generally are against it. According to a survey conducted on January 16, 2013, Pew Research states, “American Baptist, Catholicism, The church of The Latter Day Saints, Episcopal Church and Hinduism are the major religions that are one-hundred percent against abortion” (Pew Research). Of the religions above Catholicism is number one and Hinduism is number three, “Christianity has over twenty-one billion followers and Hinduism has eight hundred and fifty-one million people” (Info Please), meaning almost two point two billion people between those two religions are against abortion. Canada just recently allowed to have abortions, “then our Supreme Court threw it out completly in 1988” (Pro Choice Action Network). Most people don’t like how irresponsible abortions are, you participated in sex therefore you should have to handle all the responsibilities. More people today are Pro Life, “Fifty percent of Americans now call themselves ‘Pro Life’” (Saad). “With exception to rape, abortion is illegal in almost half the countries world-wide” (Pregnant Pause). “The Pro Choice side is down from 47% to 4...
It takes away the chance for a fetus to develop into a person and experience the important values in life and experience the love, faith, and support from their loved ones and the world. Who knows when a woman who did not undergo an abortion that a baby can bring a lot of happiness and change their life in a positive way. Killing a fetus is like killing an adult human which is not the right thing to do because it has the same moral status. The fetus is a person because it is alive and conscious in the woman’s womb and will soon develop into a person who will have all the characteristics of personhood. Death is the ends of one’s
Abortion can have abounding negative effects on the mother, one of the many being permanent infertility. Most of the time, this only happens if the mother has abundant abortions, but considering there are 40- 50 million abortions per year, the results of infertility is increasing.
Abortions make different women suffer in different ways. There are so many serious physical complications each year resulting from abortions. Are the health risks really worth it? Breast, cervical, ovarian, and liver cancers are higher risks in women who have abortions. Perforation of the uterus and cervical lacerations are possibilities while aborting. Placenta Previa, which is where the placenta blocks the neck of the uterus and interferes with normal delivery of the baby, has higher risks in pregnancies following abortions. Women are also at higher risks for ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus) and handicapped newborns in later pregnancies.
Abortion is intentionally putting an end to a human pregnancy. The Catholic Church has very strict views on this subject matter. To begin with one of the Ten Commandments Catholic’s are forced to live by is “You shall not kill” (Exodus 20:13). Taking the life of a baby whether it is in the women’s womb or not is murder in the opinion of a Catholic. If you abort a baby, you are killing a living being in a Catholic eyes, it has potential to walk on this earth one day. “Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstances claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.” (Vatican) The Vatican is very firm on the issue. God created you and created that baby and you have no right to take anybody out of this world. Human life is so closely regarded, because it’s like portraying all of God’s artwork. We are all God’s creation and nobody has the right to intervene in the birth of one of God’s creations.
Many people have their own opinions on abortion, that a fetus is a human being with a right to live so abortion is similar to murder. While other groups argue that a woman has certain rights, especially the choice whether to bring another life into the world. The groups that are for it think that abortion gives women the control over their own bodies, which it is their choice when and whether to have children or giving an option to choose to bring or not to bring a child with abnormalities to the world. Some children are born with severe disorders and some parents, being unable to care for their disabled child seek abortion as their one and only option because taking care of a child, especially born with abnormalities is tough work to do as a parent, so they decide whether bring a life into the world. They look ahead on what is best for them, and it is selfish. Or even having in mind that some do not want to become a single parent taking up two roles; a mother and father and they feel like every child should come into the world feeling wanted, loved and cared for. Another reason some women have an abortion is because they do not want to stop work or schooling, and these reasons are consistent across many countries, including America. Other reasons are because of societal pressures, women get little to no social support. But
Abortions are known as the termination of a pregnancy before the fetus is considered a “living human” often before the mother of the fetus is twenty eight weeks pregnant. Abortions were established many years ago, 500 B.C.E. to be exact. Many cultures have taken different approaches and methods to create “abortions”. The most common have been abortifacient herbs, the use of sharpened implements, abdominal pressure, cutting the fetus from the uterus, and other techniques. Being that abortions go back into the Roman time period, there is no telling who first discovered them but there are many great philosophers who expressed their thoughts, opinions, and gratitude on this touchy issue. During the Roman time period abortions were used to get rid of an unwanted fetus in many cases if the woman was pregnant out of wedlock, during adultery, or if a woman was considered “unworthy” of birth. Women who were prostitutes were often shunned and told and/or made to get abortions. Nowadays Women may use the same reasons to get an abortion with an extension of other social issues. For Instance, there are many teen pregnancies. It is a proven fact that teenage mothers are not capable to provide for a child better than if she had planned to get pregnant. Not saying that a teenager is not capable of being a mother nor a good one it is just way harder to care for a child and you still have to care for yourself as a child. Another reason women then and now could’ve been driven to get an abortion could be if they were raped at the time of the fetus being conceived. Many women know that they could not care for the child without being biased towards it because of the hurtful situation so they rather get rid of what they may consider “a remin...
Many people try to justify their actions for abortions, insisting that it is in the best interests of the child. The reasons women have abortions are not simple and can be difficult to understand, they can cover a broad range from rape, deformity, not being able to provide for the child, in another relationship, or unplanned pregnancy. Some women state, “I may not be able to provide it with a good life” to “It was bad timing and I can’t support a child right now”. In the case of rape it’s not the baby’s fault, instead of punishing the criminal it is giving the ultimate sentence to the child, the capital punishment death. “The circumstances of a preborn child's creation should not modify, let alone negate, his or her right to life. In other words, the preborn baby has a right to life regardless of the circumstances under which he or she w...
