Introduction The IGEHO is an internationally recognized exhibition for hotel, catering and extra-domestic utilization. It is organized by the M. C. H. Swiss exhibition limited at the Exhibition Center Basel, hall 1 and hall 2. This is considered to be the biggest business stage and the most significant trade fair for hotel, restaurant and catering in Switzerland and the neighboring countries. The first IGEHO was staged in 1965 and was started mainly to focus on the food and beverage industry only. With time, it increased its popularity and soon expanded and is now held after every two years in Basel Switzerland, which is considered to be the origin of the hotel industry. The most recent IGEHO exhibition was held on 19th-23rd November 2011, attracting more than 80,000 visitors and around 837 exhibitors from more than 20 countries world wide. The majority of the visitors are professionals dealing in institutions, recreational facilities/sports, contract foodservices, hotel/motel services, social catering and consulting among other related hospitality services (Presentation IGEHO 2011). The major subject matter of IGEHO is usually organic, fair trade and regional products for the catering sector, energy efficiency, and hotel answers for the health sector. Therefore, we can say that IGEHO focuses on the trend towards sustainability in the hospitality industry. During the exhibition, the hospitality sector and other related industries are offered an opportunity to introduce their products through special presentations, events, seminars and contact platforms, which allow the visitors present to get enough information (Trade Show 2011). This report will aim at looking at the IGEHO in terms of its history, the logistics involved as w... ... middle of paper ... ...11, . My group previously visited the Sheraton Hotel for our first interview with the front desk manager and it went very well. We decided to keep with the same hotel for our next interview, but due to a last-minute cancellation from the housekeeping manager we were not able to complete the interview. Due to this situation, I will be talking about a whole different hotel - G6 Hospitality. The name G6 Hospitality refers to the hotel brands – Motel 6 and Studio 6. I chose to G6 Hospitality because it is a well-known company that I wanted to know about more in-depth. From all my research, I have gained a lot of insight on what G6 Hospitality is all about.

The rooms were spacious enough to accommodate large crowds. When I attended it was free museum day and it was at maximum capacity but still aloud plenty of space to view each painting.

The Coca-Cola company has long been known as one of the leading international soft-drink corporations. Due to the rising frenzy concerning global climate change and the need to be ‘green’, Coca-Cola began monitoring and evaluating the company’s production and distribution methods in order to determine whether it was an ecologically responsible company. In an effort to present itself in a greener light, Coca-cola has acquired more natural brands, with Odwal...
This paper will discuss the five environmental factors that influence global and domestic marketing decisions that organizations must make. These five environmental factors are technology, demographics, government, culture and economics. Companies are affected differently by these factors depending on the industry they are in and the size of the organization. I will be using the Washington Plaza Hotel to illustrate how these environmental factors affect the hotel industry's marketing decisions. The Washington Plaza Hotel is a hospitality business located in Washington, DC. They offer services such as lodging, restaurant, bar, catering and meeting space rental. The Washington Plaza Hotel's major customer base is government, tourist, non-profit organizations, local businesses and some corporate clientele. Let's now take a look at how these environmental factors affect the marketing of the hotel.
In today’s market, there is I a drive for people to be a more conscientious consumer, this means that they think about their personal health and the effect of global health before they buy. (Solomon.2017) Due to the fact, that people are thinking more about the environment and effects products have on the world, marketers have found themselves taking a different approach to reach their target audience. A new way of marketing is called Green Marketing, this type of marketing involves the development and implementation of environmentally friendly products. (Solomon.2017) This method is especially stressed to the customer that is buying the product. For example, in the KIA Niro, Melisa McCarthy is showing traveling around the world to do her best to save
Bowell states that IKEA is establishing themselves “...as a leader in creating and running innovative sustainable places.” This means that IKEA is taking their job seriously. They want to be the ones to help and inspire their customers into following the methods of sustainability. The “People & Planet Positive Strategy” allows the customers individuals to learn about how they can make a change in their own lives by the implementation of products from the company. IKEA is in the process of adapting to the lifestyle of being environmentally friendly. It is necessary for them to become net-positive. Most appliance retailers do not maintain this type of
Sustainable supply chains (SSC) are a process, which employ purchasing policies and procedures that assist sustainable development at the centers of tourism. This aspect of tourism is particularly vital to implementing feasible tour operator practices. The final tourist product featured in both glossy brochures and enticing websites must be considerate of viable sustainable supply chain management to create long lasting destinations for the consumer. This report will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of SSCs, and attempt to assess how SSCs are used as a popular management tool in the tourism industry. “Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) encapsulates the trend to use purchasing policies and practices to facilitate sustainable development at the tourist destination.” (Font and Tapper et al., 2008, pp. 260--271). To expand on this, there is an expectation that Supply Chain Management “emphasizes the logistics interactions that take place among the functions of marketing, logistics, and production within a firm and those interactions that take place between the legally separate firms within the product- flow channel.” (Pulevska-Ivanovska, L, 2007: 11) This definition encompasses the three main components of supply chain management: marketing, logistics and production. According to Dr Xavier Font, the tour operators’ product depends on 3 major sections: accommodation, transport and activities. (Font, X, 2011: 260) Supply chains vary depending on the nature of product and/or service. (‘UNEP’ 2013: 273) The diagram below illustrates the three main areas of impact: economy, society and environment.
The report states that an event that is to be organized by the multinational company, where a chain of hotels and restaurants operated by hospitality starlets all over the market. The event consists of presentations which briefly describes about the performance of the past and targets that are to be set for future where 250 people are invited. The event is to be likely fun and will be allotted with luxury dining. The accommodation for the delegates has to be arranged accordingly for their stay. A event planner is required to plan the event or any intermediate is required to complete the action for event planning. Pampering the delegates is the main focus here by giving presentations which is likely to be held in this meeting. The further discussion of the topic will be carried forwarded in the assignment with details.
In recent years, tourism marketing has gone through strategic changes with the improvement in new technologies, the chase of a relationship between customers and suppliers as well as the importance of sustainability issues in marketing. Marketing Tourism reconsiders the needs of the tourists but does not overlook on the long term economic, environmental, social and cultural interests of the local population. So, it means that marketing consider both the tourist demand and effect to society as
Moreover, the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is considered the first international hotel brand in the world, as it began operations in the year 1946 (About InterContinental Hotels Group Brands, 2015). Over time the hotel group has evolved to encompass quality hotel rooms not only in North America, but in Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and Asia-Pacific (IHG – InterContinental Hotels Group, 2015). In addition, they have acquired extended stay facilities and the Hualuxe Hotels & Resorts, which specifically “celebrates the essence of Chinese hospitality” (About InterContinental Hotels Group Brands, 2015). In my opinion, this shows that their target market has changed by expanding their scope of travel, which means they are traveling to farther and farther locations and require the familiar surroundings with equivalent product quality at the final destination. The InterContinental Hotels Group is in the fourth and final stage of the product life cycle, which is the decline stage (Editorial Board, 2014, p. 212). Indeed, the brands lengthy history indicates it has loyal customers, but its addition of innovations indicates the targeting of new customers for the organization, which are clear signs of a business in the decline stage of the product life cycle (Editorial Board, 2014, p.
When first arriving at the museum it was an old styled, rustic, building that was not very modern, which I think fits into the theme of the museum. The outside of the building had history, similar to how the inside of museum is filled with a history. There was also an impressive statue of former president Theodore Roosevelt. I thought it was an interesting display, but Theodore Roosevelt was an advocate for the preservation of national parks and the conservation of animals, moreover, I thought it was a great tribute to him. I think the outside of the museum shows how rich the history of the world is and there is so much to learn. The past has been polished for the people of the present to understand and admire. Overall, I felt every exhibit was easy to understand and not intimidating; subsequently, it was easy for children and adults to look at.
