With the development of our industry, factories are using much more resource than ever. The dramatic growth of industry is causing deforestation and other environment problems. In the article “Deforestation” in National Geographic, it shows the speed of the forest disappearing as “the size of Panama” every year, and the forests only covered 30% of the total land area. Government needs to take actions as they hold the power, the ability to make laws, and the authority. Because the environment is getting worse, we should take actions to protect all the resources on the earth.
We should protect the water resource we had. In the article “What is Water Pollution” written by Rinkesh, “Industrial waste, sewage and waste water, mining activities, marine dumping, accidental oil leakage, burning of fossil fuels, chemical fertilizers and pesticides, leakage from sewer lines, global warming, radioactive water, urban development, leakage from the landfills, animal waste, underground storage leakage and so on,” are the ways causing water pollution. Although earth is a “blue” planet, the 71% of total area is covered by ocean, the potable water resource on the earth is only 2.53% of the total water resource. He said people care more about their finical problem than the environment, especially at the time having a “serious downturn”. It is understandable while people facing money and environment, they will choose money. The industry did not purity the waste they made, and their product mostly not environment friendly because the finical reason. Businessperson does not make business when the cost is more the sell.
