Tram location and route navigation system using smartphone is very important to reduce passenger waiting time at tram stops, when tram time tables are unknown by passengers. In order to accomplish that, it propose a tram location and route navigation system by using smart phones. The system is able to easily retrieve information about trams’ locations by GPS, also providing users with the shortest walking route to the nearest tram station. For evaluating the usefulness of this system, it perform a demonstration experiment on an actual "Centrum" LRT system in the center of Toyama city.
In order to reduce waiting time at tram stops, passengers would have to obtain live time tables for any tram stop. To achieve this complicated task, the user propose a new tram location and route navigation system by using ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The system relays data about the current location of a tram to the smart phone of a tram user.
1. INTRODUCTION
LRT (Light Rail Transit) has been projected as the next generation's transportation system. Recently, “Toyama Light Rail” (of Toyama city, Japan) service has been operating as a next-generation tram in order to revitalize public transportation. As such, even without knowing the entire time table, the system enables the users to get on a tram easily by showing the current location information of a tram in real time.

When measuring the entrance lines to the two parks we collected data on people in groups of five. When measuring in terms of time we started the clock when the first person began the entrance process and stopped it when the fifth person in that same line made it through the gate. We made note of the group’s total time and the amount of males, females, and children (measured by the same criteria as above). We chose to record entrance times in terms of five person groups ...
The rail systems put into place in Chicago have always been a major factor in freight transportation. The city provides a centralized hub for the railways throughout the country. After a long run the system is bound to find flaws as old technologies are passed by new ones. The existing railroad structures have in time taken a toll over the years of service. “The railroad system of Chicago has been around for a long time now. After many years it has gone past time time of despair. With the new project it is hoping to bring the popularity back to where it once was” (Chicago Transit Renovation to Improve Service). This update needed will guide Chicagos railroad system into the future. The city also has to take a look on how it is going to keep up with the constant increase of railcars on their tracks. With the new technologies of the future Chicago can only make their infrastructure better. The aim is to stay on time with the railcars to diminish the amount of overcrowding presented in the old rail systems in Chicago.

San Diego is home to many hardworking individuals who diligently work during the week and long for their days off to visit the many attractions the city has to offer. Whether it is heading to work or going to Balboa Park for a family outing, San Diegans are conscious that MTS is there to ensure they arrive to their destination in a convenient and timely manner. Being California’s second largest city, San Diego is vulnerable to frustrating traffic during rush hours, yet people are slowly recognizing MTS’s efforts to alleviate this issue and ensure that not only arrive to their destination on time, but do so efficiently; cost is not an issue and the routes are well-planned in effort to avoid traffic. People often think badly of public transportation; MTS has become an exception since it has been invested in creating a positive experience for both San Diegans who use the transportation system on a daily basis or those who ride a single bus once.
My first key highlight of the ‘trusty and reliable’ service would have to be that the metro timetable is extremely un-reliable and outdated due to the metros un-weary maintenance service and their ‘caring’ service schedules i.e. in the middle of Christmas when sales are taken place. Their timetables placed at the ‘lavish’ metro stations are outdated and outlandish as the timetables don’t even represent the actual daily schedule of the metros and that the timetables don ‘t correspond with anything related

Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is a link-state routing protocol which uses link state routing algorithm for Internet Protocol (IP) networks.Using OSPF, th convergence of a network can be done in very few seconds, loop-free paths can be guaranteed and better load-sharing on external links can be achievd. Every change in the topology of the network is identified within seconds using OSPF and it instantaneously computes the “shortest path tree” for every route using “Dijkstra's algorithm” . For that reason, OSPF requires a router which have a more powerful processor and more memory than any other routing protocols which leads to more elect...
On Saturday, the interval of Phoenix is 20 minutes. On weekend, we all want to relax: shopping, eating, and hanging out. 20 minutes waiting time is too long. It makes Saturday feel like Monday. In the meanwhile, we don’t need a short interval all the day. To keep the balance, a method that adapt interval to the riders flow will be suitable. I got this idea from the Chicago Metro. In the early morning on Saturday, a long interval will be acceptable. With the time pass by, Chicago Metro decreases the interval from 10 minutes to 6 minutes, due to the busy time comes. This method not only declines the metro interval when we need, but also does not put too much pressure on the metro management, because we increase the metro frequency only in a time
There was a time a person would use a roadmap to get from one location to another. Some also would stop and ask for directions. Today, you seldom see paper maps and people stopping at a local gas station for directions. Many vehicles come with a navigation system that provides a real-time map of the vehicle’s current location as well as systematic directions to requested destination.
Transportation system is a dynamic system. Information about traffic must be regularly updated to keep pace with ever-changing transportation system. Data must be collected and analyzed systematically to get representative information.

The impact of transport infrastructure on the land-use policies can be seen from the formation of the rapidly changing urban landscape, this is related to the land-use rezoning, including residential, commercial, and industrial site for living, work, shopping and leisure activities, the modes of travel that commuters use to access these places of employment, shopping and entertainment is a private vehicle dominated area, with a low utilization of public transportation. Modes of public transportation that are used are mini-bus taxis and to a lesser extent busses. A relatively large number of people access employment, shopping and entertainment opportunities by foot. These pedestrians are potential user of the planned BRT system within the
We all use vehicles for transportation. People usually go to their desired destination either by driving their own cars or traveling in public transportation. Actually, it might be tough to choose that which one is the best selection for people to travel. Many people choose one of them according to their comfort while traveling and both of them have advantages and disadvantages in different conditions. Public transportation and driving own car both shares differences and similarities in many aspects, such as facility, cost, and comfort as well as traffic jam and accident occurrence.
Rail transportation is a transportation in which for movement of people and goods which from one location to another destination. Rail had been takes the important role in physical and economic development of town and cities in a country and it was developed over the world. Rail transport can be made a property value in a country increase and it must be needs improvement in transportation network expanding (Goldberg, 1970). Thus, the railway services need to be done with continuous improvement and it is important to the rail passengers of the range and quality of facilities and service on stations and trains (Gleave, S. D., 2000). The future development to a public transportation is a key to affect
Confronting the challenges of the future will often require the adoption of new business models. The majority of urban transport business models are at the growth or maturity stage. These models embrace technologies developed for both individual modes of transport and collective modes such as bus, tram and train.
