Muscular strength is the amount of force that a muscle can exert with a single maximal effort.
It is used in basketball for driving and gaining enough power to shoot the ball in the hoop. Driving is needed when you either need to get the ball or when you are trying to attack the hoop and score a goal. It is when you will wait and run into space to get the ball, instead of running straight away because else your partner will just follow you. Cardiovascular endurance is what makes a player last a whole game. By improving the Cardiovascular Endurance, the player’s overall game play will improve because they won’t have to just focus on how exhausted they are, they will be able to play harder for longer amount of times. Cardiovascular fitness is the ability of the blood cells, lungs and heart to supply blood rich with oxygen to the working muscle tissues. Reaction time is also needed when even simply getting passed a ball, you have to be ready in a split second to grab onto a ball flying towards you. Once your mind makes a decision your body has a very short amount of time to act accordingly, because quicker reaction times and actions benefits a basketball players game.
