With empowering others, leaders build a foundation of collaborative thinking and encourage an atmosphere of personal involvement; a leader can strengthen the respect and loyalty of his or her followers. Leaders can affect this process by applying their own personal characteristics, such as individual beliefs and values, natural abilities, knowledge, and skills. The character traits of leadership begin with the authenticity of the leader who wants to inspire or motivate others to follow him or her. Without trust, a leader cannot be successful in influencing others to follow. Therefore, good leaders should know who they are and have a clear understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses.
You should KNOW that your leadership is all about bringing the right decision and you fulfill it and you DO provide direction for example by setting goals. Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. For me leadership is all based on some basic principles that should be followed by the leader himself and should be inculcated in the people who follow him. The first principle is to be a professional and know your job. Also to make the right, timely and sound decisions are another quality of a leader.
I feel a leader should have several essential attributes: · Trust. Leaders must be trustworthy, and they must trust their people, also. · Vision. The nuts and bolts of running a business. Leaders must know where they want the company to be in the future.
Although they all have different roles to play in an organization, they all are some type of leader. While majority of them did a good job getting their points across, managing team huddles for employers to be up to date on objectives and expression, and also their delivery in speech which helped us trust them, there are some who are not really being a good leader and cause uncomforting and untrusting feelings while working under them. Supervisory management goals should be to help employees most adequately fit with the needs of a company. Good leadership requires treating employees with great respect and care. The better the respect and caring for the employee, the better the outcome.
The task or project may be very simple or vastly complex and technically challenging. Where, a manager must find ways to motivate the people working on the task. In order to understand how to motivate the people, a manager must also understand the difference between the management and the leadership. Motivation is an important function in organizations to motivate their employees for their ability to perform well, improving their skills, increasing productivity, job satisfaction and employee extension.
These behavioral traits are essential in being a successful leader. Organizations need leaders that can work with their employees, build team work and be open to new ideas, (Lawler, 2003). In order for progress to be made, employees need to believe in their leader, and in turn, the leader needs to believe in their employees. Trust is obtained through mutual respect, building that bond of commitment to insure organizational success, (Lawler, 2003). The employees will follow a leader that promotes a positive attitude and enjoys expressing their ideas and stories.
Trust is a very valuable quality that a leader can use to mange their organization. If a leader makes honest and ethical behavior a key value, their team will also follow in their footsteps. Strong leaders should only hire personnel with the skills and experience, as well as personality and drive that are necessary to move forward.
A leader is a individual who has integrity, a vision, is honest, trustworthy, has a drive, commitment to achieve that vision, and the skills to make it happen. As a leader, first and foremost it is so critical to lead by example. Any leader or manager should not expect his/her members to do things he or she hasn’t or wouldn 't do. It is important to instill trust in the members. In doing so, members will realize that leader has their best interest at heart, and they will be more likely to follow their guidance as relationship has been built on trust.
Managers have a many tasks to do on a daily basis, and one of the many tasks is their associates. Not all managers are capable to be leaders, in order to become a leader they must earn their associates trust, but also “inspire and motivate people to give their best” (Managing Leadership, 1996). Being a leader comes with a lot of responsibility and certain qualities that will make them an effective leader. A leader is defined as “someone who can influence others and who has managerial authority”, other than that they must “influence [their associates] to achieve goals”, which is also known as leadership (Robbins, Decenzo & Coulter, 2015). Theories based on traits, contingency, situational or transformational are just some leadership techniques
A leader must be inspiring, they must be able to invite and welcome others. They need to make those around feel like they can get things do and that they know the right way to get these things done. This personality trait is one of the most important for leaders to have. As a leader you should be charming and convincing, someone who others are willing to follow, you can lead if you have no one following you. No matter what cause your leading you must be able to other to not only follow but believe in you and your cause.
