As a student, I know that we are the future for society to thrive on. We are told again and again that the knowledge we gain will further ourselves into the world, and for our college, there are rights and responsibilities us students must follow to maintain a working community for other students, teachers, and staff. To ensure a healthy and happy college experience, we must earn the same equal rights as every other student through academic opportunities, learning, and financial aid. Students are supposed to be responsible for choices made in college as it is beneficial for our future; however, most importantly we need to be responsible for maintaining academic honesty, meet staff expectations, and taking control of our future.
The ninth amendment states, “citizens are still granted rights that are not included in the constitution along with an equal opportunity to fulfill several other actions that the heart desires.” Equal opportunity is founded in the bill of rights, so, every student needs to take advantage of it by believing in what we know is true, along with making sure we

As a community, we must maintain academic honesty for the college, our professors, and other students. Academic honesty is when a student puts a value to their works by using their own knowledge; without cheating or plagiarizing another person 's work. Cheating or plagiarizing another person 's work will not further your education. The consequences, after you will be caught,are not worth it as you could have used that time to actually work on an assignment. Graduating with a false- accredited high school or college diploma will not benefit our society for the future. If we are spending our time and money to continue our education, we need to value it and not take advantage of it to cheat our way through a fake
Students entering college for the first time become concern with their college life. The students are on their own once they enter college. There are no parents or guardians telling them when to do homework, when to go to bed, or how to eat healthy. These student are now responsible on how they are going to succeed in school and meet their own needs. From the beginning, these students wonder what their experience is going to be like and are they going to handle the demands from college. Students are becoming more stressful due to academic demands, social life, and work. First-year college students should receive more help from school to learn how to help themselves and become independent.
Attending college is not only a chance for students to further their education, but it also allows them to experience the lessons life has to offer. One of the hardest lessons to learn is how unfair life can be. Students who work diligently to achieve academic success in the classroom may quickly realize their academic efforts do not “pay off” as much as the student-athlete who possesses the ability to kick a football fifty yards. There is an evident failure in the educational system when the student-athlete’s performance and how they contribute to a winning season, is more valuable to the university, than the academic student who strives to graduate with honors. Students who focus their efforts on an academic based education are not rewarded with the same benefits, resources, and perks as their student-athlete counterparts.
“The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.” This is one of the most confusing and most misunderstood amendment there is. The Ninth amendment is the meaning to protect. It means the constitution can not take away any peoples rights that are not named. Anything in this constitution can be used to cancel an amendment. Congress added the Ninth amendment to The Bill of rights to ensure that it would not be used at a later time to deny fundamental rights. The Ninth amendment is still used today that people don’t even notice it’s used directly on abortion, your right to die, and your gay rights.
The right and privilege to higher education in today’s society teeters like the scales of justice. In reading Andrew Delbanco’s, “College: What It Was, Is, and Should Be, it is apparent that Delbanco believes that the main role of college is to accommodate that needs of all students in providing opportunities to discover individual passions and dreams while furthering and enhancing the economic strength of the nation. Additionally, Delbanco also views college as more than just a time to prepare for a job in the future but a way in which students and young adults can prepare for their future lives so they are meaningful and purposeful. Even more important is the role that college will play in helping and guiding students to learn how to accept alternate point of views and the importance that differing views play in a democratic society. With that said, the issue is not the importance that higher education plays in society, but exactly who should pay the costly price tag of higher education is a raging debate in all social classes, cultures, socioeconomic groups and races.
