“It is high time for human beings to take the ‘right’ action towards saving the earth from major environmental issues” (“Current Environmental Issues”). Over the years, humans continue to have a harmful impact on the environment that needs to be addressed. Throughout one’s life, a person needs to be aware of ongoing environmental changes. People should prioritize ways to protect our planet. Pollution is a major concern, while the protection of nature is also an ongoing issue in our society.
Pollution is a problem that needs attention to save essential qualities of the environment. People need to get involved with the environment, “more than half of the human population knows what is pollution, but we still are not ready to face its damaging consequences” (“Current Environmental Issues”). Humans want to live life now and not worry about the existent of our planet. Everyone can still live life and save the planet. Some people do not value the importance of protecting animals: even though saving animals is easier than people might assume. Another way people show not to care is littering and polluting the water. There is no reason for these actions with the access to an abundance of garbage cans. However, people also see the effort to protect the environment as costly. Camilo Mora an author at the University of Hawaii says, “we’re definitely not saying we shouldn’t protect areas – the problem is that we’re investing all our human capital into those areas” (Black). Mora states, in other words “we’re putting all our eggs in one basket, which is dangerous; but even more dangerous is that there’s a hole in the bottom of the basket” (Black).
