Studying, working, cooking food, caring babies, caring parents, meeting friends…Someone might decide that there is no place for heritage in it and cultural enrichment only has to do with our 2-weeks vacation once a year. But heritage is not static. It is not something available only during travelling. Heritage is all around us: in the receipt of our grandmother’s traditional cookies; in our grandfather’s unusual words, which are disappearing in the modern language; in the way we do gymnastics to avoid health problems in the future…Heritage is not only about gazing, it is about feeling.

Malaysia have a Malay culture, a Chinese culture, an Indian culture , a Eurasian culture, along with the cultures. the peninsula and north Borneo. A unified Malaysian culture is something only emerging in the country. The important social distinction in the emergent national culture is between Malay and non-Malay, represented by two groups: the Malay elite that dominates the country's politics, and the largely Chinese middle class whose prosperous lifestyle leads Malaysia's shift to a consumer society. The two groups mostly stay in the urban areas of the Malay Peninsula's west coast, and their sometimes competing, sometimes parallel effect shape the shared life of Malaysia's citizens. The road to preservation has always been a difficult one. With a rapidly changing world the environmentalists have to present their way of thinking in a manner that is appealing to the modern age. Edward Abbey and David Brower faced this challenge in their field as they worked to persuade others that the development of nature is not always the best option. Edward Abbey’s area of focus was national parks, monuments and forests, and how industrial tourism is hurting their pureness. He explains the problems with industrial tourism and how it can be stopped in the way of removing cars, stopping road building and encouraging more active park rangers in National Parks. David Brower takes a different approach by combating acts of developments as they occur. He manages to go head to head with Charles Park, Charles Fraser, and Floyd Dominy, three men with goals of development in various parts of nature with their own beliefs on development and how it should be handled. As Brower and Abbeys life are analyzed their similarities and differences become more apparent and it becomes obvious that they had very similar mind sets.
