In one’s lifetime, it is crucial for a person to maintain their health in order to live for a lifetime. In order to maintain that health that every single human body needs, people first need to realize why it is important and how health benefits us in our daily activities. As the World Health Organization puts it, “Better health is central to human happiness and well-being”. Although the body’s health is a combination of multiple factors, it is crucial to maintain all of those aspects, specially nutrition, in order to live a well balanced life. Nutrition plays a major role in one’s health. The body gets its nutrition or fuel through the kinds of food and drinks someone consumes. Nutrition is strongly the best factor of building up bone structure. Children’s bones and adult’s bones are completely different as they grow and heal at opposite rates. As children are rapidly growing on a day to day basis, so are their bones. Teenagers at the age of eighteen or nineteen, will reach about 95% of their total bone growth, and will keep growing into the mid-twenties as each person varies. By the age of thirty, bone growth stops as the decay starts and thus the reason most adults in their thirties do not feel as healthy as before. On the other hand, “If we’re well-nourished, then our bones remodel themselves robustly” (Andrews). The recipe for healthy bones is a well balanced diet if whole, fresh foods, with exercise. Without calcium, bones would be nonexistent. Although bones contain 99% of the body’s calcium, it is not enough to build a strong skeleton alone, Vitamin D is also used. Some great ways to eat tasty and yet consume the recommended amounts of calcium is through cereals, breads, salmon, soy, and most importantly most leafy greens including but not limited to, kale and
