In one’s lifetime, it is crucial for a person to maintain their health in order to live for a lifetime. In order to maintain that health that every single human body needs, people first need to realize why it is important and how health benefits us in our daily activities. As the World Health Organization puts it, “Better health is central to human happiness and well-being”. Although the body’s health is a combination of multiple factors, it is crucial to maintain all of those aspects, specially nutrition, in order to live a well balanced life. Nutrition plays a major role in one’s health. The body gets its nutrition or fuel through the kinds of food and drinks someone consumes. Well nourished people, are always alert, awake, and have a very healthy body that can take on many …show more content…
Nutrition is strongly the best factor of building up bone structure. Children’s bones and adult’s bones are completely different as they grow and heal at opposite rates. As children are rapidly growing on a day to day basis, so are their bones. Teenagers at the age of eighteen or nineteen, will reach about 95% of their total bone growth, and will keep growing into the mid-twenties as each person varies. By the age of thirty, bone growth stops as the decay starts and thus the reason most adults in their thirties do not feel as healthy as before. On the other hand, “If we’re well-nourished, then our bones remodel themselves robustly” (Andrews). The recipe for healthy bones is a well balanced diet if whole, fresh foods, with exercise. Without calcium, bones would be nonexistent. Although bones contain 99% of the body’s calcium, it is not enough to build a strong skeleton alone, Vitamin D is also used. Some great ways to eat tasty and yet consume the recommended amounts of calcium is through cereals, breads, salmon, soy, and most importantly most leafy greens including but not limited to, kale and
Osteoporosis is the loss of bone mass and deterioration of bone matrix resulting in brittle and fragile bones (Weber & Kelley, 2014). The rate of bone resorption is greater than the rate of bone formation, therefore, causing bones to become porous and under stress, can fracture (Drake, Clarke, & Lewiecki, 2015). Conditions that contribute to osteoporosis include poor nutrition, menopause, long-term use of glucocorticoid therapy, and hyperthyroidism are only a few conditions. These conditions all have several related factors that contribute to osteoporosis, breakdown of bone or prevention of bone remodeling. For instance, inadequate dietary intake of vitamin D and calcium can lead to osteoporosis because they are necessary for bone
Bones are formed due to the ossification of cartilage. This means that in the womb, bones start off as cartilage that becomes hard bone as we grown. Calcium is needed for the bone to strengthen, which is why infants drink milk.
Nutrition in humans is a product that require to supply the human body to function, nutrients also helps to prevent any disease in human organs.
Osteoporosis has become a significant public heath issue in the Western world due to increased morbidity and mortality. Optimization of calcium is important in delaying and possibly preventing osteoporosis. Calcium is known to be the most critical nutritional factor in achieving optimal peak bone mass. Dietary dairy intake is an essential source of calcium necessary for sufficient bone density. While studies illustrate the value of dairy intake as a source of calcium and thus bone health, contention on this topic has followed. Discordant viewpoints argue no effect of dairy consumption on bone strength and negative impacts of excess protein leading to metabolic acidosis which impacts bone mass. This review will focus on the benefits of dairy intake for managing adequate calcium levels necessary for bone growth and strength as a preventive measure in combating osteoporosis.
Nutrition is important in your daily life. Having good nutrition is key to being healthy. Always eating and drinking with regular exercise is part of being healthy. With a well-balanced diet and regular exercise your health will be excellent.
Again, a diet that is rich in calcium and vitamin D is essential to prevent bones from becoming thin and brittle, thus making them easier to facture. If consuming the proper vitamins and nutrients becomes difficult, a variety of dietary supplements can be useful to ensure recommended daily intake. According a research study, it is more cost effective to recommend these two dietary supplements to the elderly because if doctors treat early onset osteoporosis with calcium and vitamin D, by the time these same elderly individuals reach the age of 80, the cost of treatment is much more cost effective. Those that receive no type of treatment for early onset osteoporosis are more prone to factures, internal injuries due to fractures, and hospitalization costs with pain medication increase for the elderly by the time they reach 80. In contrast, those that treated osteoporosis earlier in their lifetime have an increased physical ability because of adequate daily
I spent a lot of time wondering how to be healthy when I was obese. I wondered why my siblings were normal and thin. I wondered why I was different and fat. I wondered ‘What am I doing wrong? How can I be healthy?’
Proper nutrition is important in maintaining a long and healthy life. Most Americans are rushed due to their busy work schedules, and do not take the time to plan their diets properly. Like me, most Americans are unaware of the importance of eating a healthy diet and consume too many foods without the proper nutrients. Throughout my life I have been fortunate. I have not had any major health problems, and have been able to consume most foods without having to worry about gaining weight. These last two years, however, I started to gain weight and have become concerned with my diet. Changing my poor eating habits has been difficult for me, however, having this assignment has taught me that it is not as difficult as I previously imagined.
“You are what you eat” is proved to be true. Anthelme Brillat-Savarin wrote in 1826 “Physiologie du Gout, ou Meditations de Gastronomie Transcendante.” that “Dis-moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai ce que tu es. [Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are].” Too much or too little of nutrition is not good for health. The proper well-balanced diet and proper fitness build the healthy body. Therefore, it is important to know how to stay healthy to avoid the diseases. This paper focuses on the concept of nutrition related to healthy eating and the dietary guidelines as well as its impact on unhealthy eating. The excess or less nutrition is considered the unhealthy eating. There
It is very easy to see how and why nutrition and fitness play such important roles in the well-being of the human body. Though many different diseases and health issues can come from a lack of proper diet and lack of exercise, it is amazing how many health matters can be solved and even prevented just through properly balanced nutritional and fitness habits.

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise not too little not too much, we would have food the safest way of health” (Barasi.E.M, 2003). This essay is going to discuss on the important of six essential nutrients in human body. According to PosnerB.M (1998), he define essential nutrients as a nutrients that the body cannot synthesize on its own-or not to an adequate amount and must be provided by the died. Oxford dictionary (2009), also define essential nutrients as are those nutrients that are required by the body and cannot be synthesise in the adequate amount to meet requirement, so must be provided by the diet. Essential nutrients are those found to be essential to human life and optimal function, Williams.M. H (2006).There are six main type of nutrients used to maintain body health. They are carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and water. They must be in balance for the body to function properly.
Proper nutrition is one of the most essential elements to being healthy and living a long life. People deal with food every day, and food has been a part of life since the beginning of civilization. What we eat becomes our diet, and our diet plays a major role in deciding how healthy we are and how well our body functions. Without proper diet, our body cannot carry out the functions it needs to perform. Most people have some common knowledge on what is good and what is bad for the human body to consume. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains are some common items people think of when they think of healthy foods. However, it is not enough just to know what foods are good for your body, it is also important to understand why certain foods are good for you and what they do to help the body function.

Eating with a healthy meal plan will show you how much you need from each food group I gave you above to sustain your body with the daily nutrients intake that promote not only good health but longer lives.
