First I would introduce them to what a nutritional facts food label is and what it looks like. I would then explain why it is placed on every food item. The majority of packaged foods come with a food label. This food label is based on a 2000 calorie (kcal) adult diet. If used properly it helps a person manage weight. The first thing usually seen on the label is the serving size for example a pack of cookies with a count of 12 the serving size is 4. You would also notice serving per container this is the number of servings you shall get from a container. When I was involved in sports I often ate very nutritious foods because I want to stay as physically fit as possible and eating right helped me do that.
