Part I: Family is very important to me I have a great love for my family and friends. The only family that I am close to is my immediate family. My mom and dad both have totally different families but I am close to both sides. Growing up I had one grandmother on my mom 's side and grandparents on my dad 's side. On my mom 's side I have a total of nine aunts and uncles, while on my dad 's side I only have one uncle. I have two sisters and three brothers but only my oldest brother and younger sister have the same mom as me. As you may have already notice I have a complicated life. During my childhood my mom and dad were married and we lived in a nice big house along with my brother and sister. Years after my mom and dad’s divorce my dad got remarried and had my two little twin brothers. Since the divorce I almost had two different lives with my mom and my dad because both of their families are so different. On my mom’s side we like to party and play around jokingly, while on my dad’s side we are more laid back. Although both sides of my family are totally different we all share the same values and beliefs. All of my family believes in Christianity and going to church at least every other Sunday. My family considers our background to be of African descent because majority of my family line is African American. However, this background gets a little difficult to figure out according to both of my grandmother’s backgrounds. On my mom’s side her mother was born into a black and white family, her mother was white and her father was black. Then on my dad’s side my grandmother believes that her mother was Cuban and her father was black. My family history has really been a secret to me all throughout my life. I do not know much about any of my extended family in fact I have never even met
