1. Whose values should be foundational within American education systems?
Throughout America, the education system relies on its teachers to educate its youth. It is extremely important that these teachers are developing the youth to become the best as humanly possible, because they are the future of the country. These teachers also need administrators to guide them along on their path to educating the nation. Administrators set the standards that the teachers must follow. These standards that the students learn guide them on a path of discovery of new knowledge. This new knowledge should be helpful and positive to create a society that has good values. Throughout most of the last century, students at Indian boarding schools were given poor examples of values from their educators. This was the wrong way to educate the youth, as the students do not have a good example to follow. Because the students adopt similar values as their educators through examples that they set, it is essential that the educators’ values are foundational within American education

This is why children spend most of their childhood growing up at school. The education that they receive at this time will carry with them through their lifetime. Nowadays it is essential that every man, woman, and child have a baseline of education to even survive in society. Reading, writing, and even the understanding of simple arithmetic must be learned to do the simplest of tasks like going to the grocery store to buy food. A decent education through secondary school and even college must be obtained to become a highly productive member of society. An educated community is able to prosper and thrive much better when compared to a community that has received little to no education. The most important outcomes of education are its positive impact on the health of a society and the economic gain that it
Education has always been in existence in one form or another. As each child is born into this world regardless of who or where they are born, life lessons immediately begin. He/she will learn to crawl, walk, and talk by the example and encouragement of others. Although these lessons are basic in the beginning they evolve as the child grows. However, the core learning method of a child does not change. Learning from others, they will watch, listen, and then act for themselves. Thomas Jefferson believed that an education would lead men and women to the ability to be self-governed and become positive contributors to society (Mondale & Patton, 2001). Today, we can see how true this is by the examples of others. Those that are given the opportunity for education are more likely to find jobs and develop skills that not only improve a community, but influence the economic growth of their nation (Ravitch, Cortese, West, Carmichael, Andere, & Munson, 2009, p. 13). On the other hand, if an education is not provided to individuals, they can become a hindrance to that nation’s growth.
Education is valued greatly in the contemporary world. We believe that the knowledge gained at universities and colleges is the key to finding a good job, being prosperous and succesful in life. Education is seen as a kind of legacy – it encompasses all the values, experiences, and achievements of our ancestors, and in order to ensure the survival of a culture it must be passed on to future generations. However, schooling should never have been made mandatory.
As a matter of fact, everything have created actually based on the knowledge that gained from education, Which plays an indispensable function in our lives everyday, besides If time passes over both the educated person and highly educated one, it 's obvious that non-college graduated, who see college isn 't for him/her and think that it 's a waste of time and money, will be still working at that random working or even loose his job , and never gets half as much the college student graduated gets, and their opportunities to work is less because many job 's now a days require more than a high school education, On the other side, the college graduates will easily work and earn more money. Actually, College education acts like the stairs the students step on to reach their brilliant goal in life. Specifically, teachers at schools must let their students know the value of college learning before the life train goes quickly. They have to persuade them to join college early, and encourage students to be useful for their beloved country. Particularly everybody should be satisfied with his/her life, he/she should draw the outlines of his/her goal in life and move upon them. As a conclusion, Parents should endear their children in education since childhood, and try to provide them with good education so that the doors for higher educational level are not closed to them, also help them to choose the career
L. and Bauman, K., 2016). Education from a young age helps learn the importance of post education. Those who are educated go on to do incredible things that can change the way we do things. In school you learn to do projects including powerpoints which you can use when making business propositions, which leads to better methods that can benefit the overall community. People who study any complex areas such as space or mechanics, had to have been educated to be able to know how to do those things, and because they do, we know how our solar system works and we have a lot of technology such as cars and computers. These are advancements that have been made globally and has improved the way we live our lives, thanks to
Not to specifically blame the parents for the teen get pregnant. Although the teens have not taken fault for their actions, but need to be aware for future references. Sex education should be taught in high school. According to these organizations, only about 50% of teen mothers have a high school diploma compared with 90% of girls who did not have a teen pregnancy. Fewer than four in 10 (38%) teen girls who have a child before they turn 18 earn their high school diploma. Fewer than 2% of teens who have a baby before the age of 18 obtain a college degree by age 30 (“socialworktoday”). Teen mothers are less likely to graduate from high school and more likely than their peers who delay childbearing to live in poverty and to rely on welfare (Hoffman, 2006). I encourage Sex Education in schools... to explain and show the outcomes of teen pregnancy and STD's that are spreading much faster throughout our nation, because parents have not taken a few moments to explain and elaborate into specific detail on this trending topic ("U.S. Teen Pregnancy Rate Continues to Fall ").
The education one earns is something that does not just affect them, but rather, it affects all the people around them. A community filled with mostly uneducated people holds itself back from bigger an...
Education empowers people to be able to support themselves in the future by getting a job. Many jobs in today’s society require some type of education. For people to financially support themselves they need some type of basic education. Education can also be a ladder for poor people to work their way up in society to a financially stable life. Education is also important because a person needs to know right from wrong to live in society. Also, being culturally and socially educated helps people connect with other people better with no judgment or ignorance towards them. Although there are ways to succeed and be empowered, education is the most successful at empowering us financially, morally, culturally and socially.
Education is one of the most essential possessions in life. It is necessary for success, and it provides an enhanced future. I believe that people, who do not get an education, are uninformed as to what is going on in their surroundings. The disadvantage is that people can abuse you for your lack of knowledge. People need to be educated to communicate effectively with other people who might have distinct points of views than theirs. In other words, education makes you more open-minded and acceptable to other ideas, beliefs, and values. In the United States, people are extremely lucky because no matter what their age they always have the privilege of receiving the best education possible. In other countries, children have withdrawn from school at an early age because their parents cannot afford to pay for their education. This is very depressing because in the United States innumerable people take school for granted and give up just because they are lazy. They do not appreciate what they have and do not value education.
Fundamentally education equips persons with ability to read and write. These are the drives and the engine that propels the global and competitive world we are into now.Basically in all what is done today the relevance to education is the key that is looked at.We are in an economical world where by all people
After twelve years of school, it took me until now to figure out exactly why I had been there all those years. It was not to torture me by making me learn how to spell but to make sure that my classmates and I got the opportunity to make the most of ourselves. Opportunity that would come from learning as much as possible from books and beginning to see that the world focuses on more than just history and English . I owe my success in life and school to teachers who taught me to spell and to be respectful and responsible. Those quick to argue with me say that school's usefulness is shallow: deeper-real-life experiences truly educate a person. School should be seen not only as a place to study, but also as a place to learn about real life. People cannot depend on experience alone for education just as they cannot solely rely on information from school books to prepare them for life. The lessons, whether from a book or not, learned in school transcend the classroom to real life situations.
In our culture today, there is a huge emphasis on education, especially higher education. Society basically says the more educated you are, the better off you are. That is pretty much true if you live by the means of society. The basic idea that education, especially a college education, is something that people should pursue even into their adult years is not by any means a new idea.
In the report “10 Scary Facts on Education in the U.S.A.” states that “85% of current jobs and 90% of new jobs require some or more college or post-secondary education.” This is quite important because people all need a way to provide for themselves. Faruk states in the report “Fallible Tradition: The Need for Reform in Education” that if the 1.3 million dropouts from the Class of 2010 had graduated, America would have seen $337 billion more money over the course of the students’ lifetimes. That proves that education is the foundation for jobs, without it everyone would all be lost. It would also lead to new opportunities and make a person aware of how could they could be anything they want, if they get an education. Education is not only important in America, but other countries as well, like Africa. Kezaabu point out that the quality of education provided still remains poor, especially in rural communities where children study under trees, ruined classrooms, and are lacking sufficient learning resources. How can children learn and be able to provide for themselves if education is poor? Education needs better tools, and should be equally provided everywhere. Education leads to a new
In the world today, education is not as common as most people think. In fact, Harvard did a recent study on the worlds education status, and only 6.7 percent of the world’s population are college degree-holders. Education cannot be replaced, and that is what makes education in the world today so valued. If people are educated, they hold a higher social status throughout their culture. The opportunity to be educated gives one the chance to help others. The more people who become educated can then help others become educated, and the world’s percent for educated people will increase. Education results on a person by, increasing their tolerance for others, greater critical thinking skills, and having their moral obligations set.
It allows people to gain knowledge on skills society deems important like the three R’s, which are, reading, writing, and arithmetic. Education also prepares young people on entry into adulthood and is therefore a form of socialization. An education system was developed in order for every child to be able to know basic skill sets before having to be on their own. This is a way to partially guarantee that the general populous of a society is educated on all the same basic functions. It allows a society to run more efficiently and effectively if everyone knows a standard amount of skills. Surprisingly, a basic education for all is a relatively new system. Before the 19th century, education was only reserved for the rich, white, upper class. Most jobs back then did not require an education or the ability to read and write. Education overall has had many positive effects on people’s lives. It is directly linked to the type of job a person has and the amount of money they make. For the most part, the better a person’s occupational status, the higher likelihood of a greater formal education, and with a better occupational status comes a better
