Among developing countries, India has been an early adopter of e-governance. E-governance may be defined as delivery of government services and information to the public using electronic means. Use of Information Technology in government facilities is an efficient, speedy and transparent process for disseminating information to the public and other agencies, and for performing government administration activities.

Good governance is fundamental and e-governance is instrumental. No e-Governance tool can be successful without focusing attention to process reforms for good governance. Good governance dictates the design and shape of

• E-Governance aims at building a feedback framework, to get feedback from the people and to make the Government aware of people's problems.

• E-governance aims to restore democracy to its true meaning by improving citizen participation in the Governing process, by improving the feedback, access to information and overall participation of the citizens in the decision
