The more education a teacher or daycare assistant has, the more they can help the children. It is nice to know that the teachers or assistants are spending enough time preparing for a child. Child Care Aware states that of the children who arrive at school without the skills needed to succeed, more than 85 percent of them are still behind in fourth grade. Daycare centers help with this problem. This is why daycare centers have requirements such as these to ready a child for school. These requirements will help lower that percentage of non-ready fourth graders. Time spent in child care is strongly linked to childrens ' social–behavioral development. Maternal sensitivity is a huge factor in predicting social and behavioral development. Children …show more content…
Daycare centers average around $650 a month for child care. Home facilities tend to be less expensive than daycare centers because they have different expenses. It does cost more to send an infant to daycare than an older child, such as a toddler, because infants require supervision at all times. While daycare centers employ more employees than a home daycare facility. Most home daycares are ran by the owner of that house. People forget to think about what this money is being spent on. Daycare centers employe multiple people that provide care to multiple children requiring large volumes of food, toys, and activity cleaners, etc. Daycare centers also send employees to school and workshops to continually educate them to maintain the quality of the curriculum they are teaching the children. This is a direct benefit to the children. It is worth the additional expense to parents if their children are going to befit from …show more content…
There are both pros and cons of both sides. Overall daycare centers are the right choice for a child. With new education and technology children are becoming more advanced. These tighter guidelines provide structure for a developing child, pushing them in the right direction. Their social, emotional, and educational development will be better than a child who did not attend any childcare, while a daycare center would be the most beneficial. Parents can argue against daycare centers and go with home facilities or no child care at all, but that would not be benefitting their child as much as they could be. Cost is always an issue with child care but there is always a way to give a child the best education they
Some day care can be beneficial for the children as they offer great facilities and have positive effects on the child rather than having negative effects. Day care is not a replacement of a family it is there to work with the family and complement the
Most parents would probably prefer a family member would take care of their child; it could possibly be no cost and would make them feel as though they weren’t having someone else raise their child because they have to work. This is not an option for many parents so they go outside the family to make their choice of care. A day care center and an individual caregiver both have their pros and cons. Day care centers are open longer hours and have more workers in case of illness, caregivers could become ill and the parents would have to take the child to an emergency back up or miss work entirely. Children are very much individuals and have to be considered in the choice the family makes for care of their child. Every family must decide first what they can afford and then weigh the options to provide the best care available to them.
Parents are always questioning whether they would like to have any more children someday. One of the aspects parents think about in this decision is child care. Child care can be pricey and the quality of the child care is also something to think about as well. Parents want their child to grow up and become very successful in life. Choosing a daycare from infant on, is part of the process to becoming successful as they grow. For one to add on to the family they need to think about the quality of child care, the price of child care, and attention of care: how their child will be raised. High-quality child care should be provided at public expense to all working parents!
Having your child in an In-Home daycare facility may not be such a great idea either. After reading the article The Hell of American Day Care, many parents vowed not to let their kids go to In-Home facilities. Because the rules and regulations for In-home daycare workers aren’t strictly enforced.
Raising a kid as a couple or even a single parent is a struggle. With the expenses of diapers, clothing, bottles, cribs, and everything else, it adds up really quick. Maternity leave only lasts a short while, and as your child gets older there are more expenses that you have to cover, such as daycare, and babysitters. These things can be a struggle while you’re working a fulltime job and trying to afford child care, these expenses add up and become a burden. While paying for these things for your child sometimes parents find themselves with just enough to buy food and pay bills. So the real question here is, is it worth it to have a job just to pay for daycare when you could raise your own child at home while being supported by E.I or welfare? This option would allow you to pay your bills and afford groceries while still having money left over. This topic has two sides and many opinions.
When selecting childcare for your child the foundation of early learning has offered some tips that they believe will be helpful in the process. The foundation says that parents have always known that good early experience was important for their child. Now scientist and researchers are confirming how critical these first years of life are to your child’s healthy development (Selecting child care, 2002). Because the brain matures in the world rather than in the womb, the brain growth and development of infants and young children is deeply affected by their earliest experiences. In a childcare environment the relationship your child has with the caregiver will also affect how that child feels about himself and the world around him and as he grows up (Selecting child care, 2002). It is often argued that daycare workers get paid just enough or more than enough. Thus it is understandable that parents do not want to spend more than they have to of their well earned money. This fact is very understandable. Parents have to pay for their living and they have bills just like child care workers. Anybody in the working field knows what its like to work hard and make so little. Child care workers are a big example of this. They work a hard, sometimes stressful job and they do not seem to get appreciated for it. Parents feel it is okay to ask for raises or more benefits, so why cant child care workers?
Note: Bathroom and /or diaper change times vary to meet the child’s needs. This is a general schedule and is dictated mostly by the children’s needs and feelings each day.
One of the biggest benefits of daycare is socialization, kids with previous exposure to child care have better social skills in kindergarten. According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the number of children entering kindergarten from formal preschool and daycare programs has increased. “Kindergarten used to be a child’s first social experience.” “Now, most already know how to share and take turns. Those skills, traditionally taught in kindergarten, are already intact” (Rush Par. 9). One of the biggest benefit of child care is socialization, because kids have to learn how to share, solve problems, and be team players. And at a well-run program with teachers who have a strong education background, kids learn to use their voices to solve conflicts (Revelant Par. 5). Studies show that kids in high quality child care are more cooperative and sociable. A study done by the Effective Provision of Pre-school Education, early education improves a child’s social skills and behavior, and children who start daycare or preschool under three have better relationships with their peers. Child care brings children together and encourages communication, sharing, creative play and games with their peers. It essentially compels children to want to engage in social interactions with others. Likewise, the more time a child spends at child care center
Now in the article, How Early Child Care Affects Later Development, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development administrated a study to conclude if long term child care effects a child’s cognitive and social-emotional development. In order for them to come to suc...
It is common knowledge that a parent is considered the most efficient caregiver for their children. It’s also known that with daily responsibilities of caring for a child financially, parents partake in full-time and/or part-time employment. While needing to do so, many children attend daycare/preschool facilities. Granted, it is the parent’s responsibility to cautiously select where they decide to take their children. This is because parents know that while they are away for numerous hours of the day, their children are in the hands of another care provider and that their care would have an enormous impact on their children. At a young age, a child’s social and cognitive skills are continuing to take shape and the amount of time spent in these facilities has a resilient impact on a child’s development. With proper and superior care no matter the time spent, such positive effects on a child’s development should endure in a child’s cognitive and social development. In other words, there is a great benefit of childcare/daycare attendance on a child’s development.
Have you ever wondered if childcare could ever really affect a child or not? Or maybe even benefit the parents of the child/children? Walt Disney once stated, “Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children.” Quality child care can offer a lifelong love of learning for children. Positive experiences in a child care center can have a significant impact on a child’s academic future and in all of their domains of development. Every child is special and unique and deserves the best start possible. Children’s health and social skills can last a lifetime if they are taught at early ages by parents, caregiver, and or child care providers. In a high-quality child care environment, child care providers work together to ensure
Many people spend hundred of dollars monthly for others to care for their children, but you can care for your own children. The biggest benefit of this is experiencing their milestones and growth. Gratitude is gained heavily. Owning a day care, can help you learn to appreciate the little things in life such as health and relationships. Working with children can teach you to be patient and improve communication skills. The gratitude received by both parents and children is emotionally satisfying. The advantages vary between if the day is home or center based. A home based day care has a faster start up time. The preparation for opening usually is within a few weeks or up to a month. Home based is cheaper than center. A typical in home day care costs $1,000 less than a center ran business. Tax breaks are an advantage. The portion of items personally paid for such as rent, taxes, and utilities are deducted as business expenses. The biggest advantage is more flexibility. The owner has flexibility in determining the hours and days of operation and also the program in general. This includes the daily routine and the curriculum being taught. A center based day care has its advantages as well. The owner has the ability to provide for more children. In home, the maximum is at least 10 children depending on the state. Business does not interfere with your home environment, when running a center based
In addition to the above, it is worth noticing that children in day-care tend to be better adjusted people, due to spending time with people outside their own families. This teaches them how to interact with others. It is the interactions between the parents and other caregivers that actually affect the way a baby’s brain is wired for later learning, as has been sug...
In children of Middle class and Upper class mothers, who spent a good amount of time in day care from infancy did show more behavioral related issues versus children of mothers who worked part-time.
